Has it been a smooth road?
Becoming a voice teacher was something that literally fell into my lap. I was newly married and about 7 months pregnant when I got laid off in 2006. I managed to get a part-time job and a co-worker asked me to help with a wedding song and I taught her the song in the bathroom! Long story short, she offered to pay me for lessons. Although I was rusty and wasn’t working in music at the time. Honestly, I needed the money so we started training. That need began to fuel the passion I once enjoyed for music. That student quickly turned into over 10 students with no marketing! That’s when I got serious. There were definitely ups and downs and there still are. Being an entrepreneur is tough and I believe the toughest part for me is the inconsistency in my income. So I’m still learning to balance and delegate to be more effective.
