Meet Eduardo Nunez De Caceres of Newnan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eduardo Nunez De Caceres.

Hi Eduardo , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started making music when I was in high-school with a few friends as a joke to create a beef with another group of musicians who were at a rival school. I ended up falling in love with the process and ended up wanting to take it seriously. A few years later after I graduated I had a friend who had hit me up asking me to make beats for him. That friend who’s name is also Lalo had ended up introducing me to someone named Dalton who had basically turned into my mentor of sorts. When he heard the music I was making we ended up being really close friends and we became friendly rivals and id do everything I could to “make better music” than him. I would sit and watch him produce and mix and soaked up as much information I could to better the quality of music I made. A few years later we had created a music group called FMLY and ended up making enough music for 2 albums. We never ended uo releasing any of the music but the process helped all of us grow artisticly. All of our sounds started to develop at this point and I no longer wanted to make trap music and moved towards rnb with some hiphop influence. I would then come to meet Jashun and immediately it felt like we were supposed to be working together. The first song we ever made was in our eyes phenomenal. Jashun and I would work on songs on the regular and it just felt like everytime we would work on a new song we would both be that much better. After a few years of working together we ended up making a song called “Jumpin” that would sit on my hard drive for a few years before an opportunity came to us to possibly get a song on 2k25. I had been told by my mom that there is a competition to get on to the 2k25 soundtrack and I immediately picked up the phone and called Jashun to submit our best music. Only 12 people would be chosen to participate in the competition and luckily we had both been chosen. After the 6 week course our song was chosen to be on the soundtrack. It felt surreal. I had never thought something like this would be possible especially with all the talent that was around us. Since then there’s been many ups and downs, many times I had writers block, felt like I couldn’t make music but thankfully I had Jashun and a few other friends who kept pushing me to make more music and not give up on music. Right now Jashun and I are slowly working on an album and we are trying to piece together some songs and finish up others to release something special to the world. Its only been 6 years that I’ve been making music and I see myself making music for many years to come. I only hope that one day I can see my friends on stages with my production in the background.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The first few years of my music production career were very smooth I cant say I had many problems. I felt that I was learning at a really fast pace and I could see the growth every day I made a new beat/song. It was only after my 3rd or 4th year where I started to doubt my production skills. I felt my music wasnt good enough and it would stunt my output. I would stop making music for 6 months at a time. My ear never liked what I was making, I compared my sound to the artists that I loved and looking back now I just needed to put my head down and put in more work.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a producer. I love to go to record stores and find niche albums and I enjoy sampling from them. I tend to look for jazz or latin records. Really just any album that catches my eye. Lately I’ve been learning the guitar and trying to create music completely from scratch. So far only 2 songs I made from scratch have been released and those are “PINK” and “Jumpin” both released under Jashun. I’m most proud of meeting my friends. They are the ones that keep me going. I wouldn’t be here or have achieved anything without them. I’m usually pretty quick to move on from hobbies but this is one thing that has had me hooked since day one. If I had to say what sets me apart from others it would be my ideas. I want to go big with everything. If I had the time and money I promise everything we put out would be just as I envisioned.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
One of my favorite books is The Creative Act by Rick Rubin. It has helped me through writer block and has also helped me think about music differently. I also really enjoy art books. My father was an artist and id like to carry his talent with me. So any chance I get ill pick up one of my art books and try and learn a new drawing technique or try and find a new medium to create with.
