Today we’d like to introduce you to Edward Draven.
Edward, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started being intrigued by acting when I was eight years old. I would always watch Disney Channel and say, “mom, I want to do that.” After that, during every class play, I would read aloud. I didnt start acting professionally until the summer of 2015. I started training at premier actors network and I haven’t looked back since!
Has it been a smooth road?
Absolutely not, I remember constantly being told no and taking advice and studying and practicing hours to better myself. I also remember freshman year being such a nightmare, It really took a toll on my mental health such as my happiness, self-esteem and comfortability around others. I remember just being to myself because I had no one to talk to. I overcame most of these but it still affects me from time to time.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
I’m an actor and filmmaker. I love to direct movies and cast real people into characters that came from my mind. I feel like what sets me apart is my openness to all people and my compassion for others and my ability to be unapologetically me.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the opportunities here for minorities. Anyone can start a life here no matter their lifestyle or race, I also love how everyone is family-oriented here. I really dislike the cut-throat people who try to take advantage of others.
