Meet Elijah Paul

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elijah Paul.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hello reader, my name is Elijah although I go by Jah. My story begins in Boston where I was born in 1995 and raised up until the early 2000s when my parents decided to move to Atlanta. We did move back and forth a few times but I consider Atlanta my home.

Growing up I was always the problem child, full of energy, independence, curiosity, and wit. I was always thinking of a new way to hustle, do things, create things, and sometimes even destroy things. I had a habit of not asking for permission first and forgiveness after (still do). This fun and in-the-moment personality of mine has truly led me to a life of fulfillment, travels, and experiences I am grateful for. Below I will describe those memories and I look forward to describing what more I have to give to the universe and my community in the years to come.

I, like most of my friends, consider myself a multidimensional artist & entrepreneur, It is hard to say that any one particular hat fits me – although I have learned over the years to master one skill before I move on to the next. So, to list I am a DJ, curator, actor, model, craftsman, and licensed realtor. My time and focus at this moment are given to my DJ craft. Music is my first love and on top of that, my dad is a DJ – Shotta with Cartel Sound.

Growing up I would always hear him playing out of our garages, going to sound clashes, and editing dubs. The allure wasn’t there as much when I was younger cause either I was outside or playing video games – but growing up I slowly started appreciating that fact of my childhood and decided to take the first shot in my musical career when I moved back from Australia in 2020.

Fast forward to today and I nearly DJ full-time. I work with two mobile DJ companies, One Night Entertainment & Jammin DJs (at the time of this interview) as well as freelance work including bars and clubs. Furthermore, I got my real estate license in May of 2022 and joined the brokerage Maximum One Executive Realtors. Real estate is more of a part-time job for me but nonetheless, I love helping people buy or sell property (and architecture in general). I have acted in 2 short films, 2 sitcoms, and 4 music videos with lots more to come. My modeling career is at a pause because the desire came and went but I am always open to it if I like the brand and check.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been a mix of both. There are always challenges along the way to any destination but it matters how you look at those challenges. I look at them the same way I look at failure, they are lessons to be learned. They allow us to go beyond our beliefs and limitations and surprise us with just how creative and talented we truly are.

The biggest challenges within my field are probably the consistent no’s. You cannot be scared of rejection nor can you be scared to put yourself out there. I have to be my biggest cheerleader and fan and have unyielding confidence in myself.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I do whatever my heart yearns for. Though I can have sporatic moments of painting, making music, yoga, boxing, pilates, DJing, curating/ hosting, acting, at the end of the day I am an artist who just loves to live life. That is my specialty.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I love this question but I first need to explain what success is to me – every reader is different.

Success for me is Ultimate-Freedom. Freedom in time, finance, health, spirituality, and choice.

So, to answer this question, the qualities and characteristics most important to me for success are hard work, discipline, determination, resilience, and creativity.
