Meet Elizabeth Rudd of Well Equipt Physical Therapy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Rudd.

Elizabeth Rudd

Hi Elizabeth, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I opened Well Equipt in 2018 as a side business. I asked an owner of a gym if I could plop a table in his gym and provide physical therapy services to the members of the gym. He agreed, and for the first year of business, I treated as many gym owners as I could until I built up enough of a caseload to quit my full-time job and commit to Well Equipt full-time. Almost one year later, Covid hit, our first son was on the way, and there were a lot of unknowns. We expanded in 2020 and added a staff therapist to the team to take over while I was on maternity leave and stay on afterwards. In 2022, we expanded again. We added another staff therapist, a full-time office administrative assistant and built out a bigger clinic space. Now we have a team of 4!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Entrepreneurship is never a smooth road!! Not to mention, growing a business and growing a family is no joke!

The unknowns of Covid, the struggles of 2 pregnancies and postpartum eras that require extra attention on the home front, and shifting roles from a solo practitioner to a company leader have been challenging. However, without struggles, there would be no triumph. I’ve grown so much as a person, leader, practitioner, mom, and friend!

As you know, we’re big fans of Well Equipt Physical Therapy. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Well, Equipt is a local physical therapy practice with a mission to help our community live pain-free, active lives. We help our patients through a three-step process: 1. identify root cause of aches/pains. 2. create and implement a plan to fix it. 3. prevent pain from returning. Our Doctor of Physical Therapy provides high-quality one-on-one care to each patient to help them achieve goals they never thought possible. We aim to elevate healthcare standards by customizing plans of care to each unique patient. We provide comprehensive services to active adults, including orthopedic physical therapy, wellness and fitness programs, yoga, recovery and maintenance services, remote fitness programs, and much more!

I am most proud of our genuine ability to care for our community. We have created a healthcare environment that fosters exceptional outcomes, values balanced wellness and maintains longstanding relationships with our patients and community.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is the ability to achieve and live by your core values and mission. Creating clear core values is key!
