Hi Eric, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My wife Luisa and I started Outdoor Illuminations in 2021, beginning with Christmas light installations. From there, we expanded into events, weddings, and landscape lighting. We started with nothing more than our car and a handmade trailer, just the two of us putting in the work. Over time, we were able to reinvest into a larger trailer and eventually a truck, and little by little we built our business up.
What makes Outdoor Illuminations special is that it has always been a family-driven business. We’ve kept it close-knit with employees who feel like family, and we’ve grown step by step through hard work and determination. We truly started with nothing, but with persistence and support from our customers, we’ve built something we’re really proud of.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all—there have definitely been ups and downs. We’re constantly working to improve ourselves and the business, and there have been challenges along the way. One of the biggest was in 2023, when we were blessed with our baby right in the middle of Christmas light season. It was difficult to juggle everything, but with the love and support of family, friends, and God, we made it through. Truly, God, family, and friends have guided us through every struggle.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I like best about Atlanta is definitely the food and the fall season. The restaurant scene is incredible, and when the leaves change, the city is just beautiful.
What I like least would have to be the hot, humid summers—they can be tough to get through
