Meet Eric Rollins of Grunt logistics in Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Rollins.

Eric, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
After leaving high school, I enlisted in the army. I serve ten years and I was also injured in Iraq. Once my disability became too much for me to continue to serve in the army, I was medically retired. Upon retirement, I went through a deep depression with the loss of the only career I knew. I was voted on to the Dekalb County Veterans Affairs Advisory Board as their youngest chair. I am also the Allana area leader for a nationwide veterans non-profit organization (IAVA). Working with veterans motivated me to entrepreneurship. So, I started grunt logistics to help give jobs to veterans who have lost their way.

Has it been a smooth road?
In the very beginning, it was pretty rough losing the only career that I ever wanted to do. Alongside with medical issues that I truly didn’t understand at the time and had to get used to the many symptoms. And after that was handled then, I need to educate myself on the business world which I was completely lost in at 1st. A ton of self-reflection went into me signing up for different programs and education classes on making sure I could make a business work the right way.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
Grant logistics contracts with different companies to get goods from one area to another. We specialize in anything that you can fit in a cargo van. My proudest moment was just me realizing that I’m helping others live. My company’s built on army values and trust and that is what sets us apart.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Atlanta is an awesome place to start a business it’s all about your drive and your commitment that will keep you growing.
