Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric White Jr..
Hi Eric, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey in the fitness industry began in the fall of 2021 when I was just 16 years old. Having been a competitive track athlete since the age of six, I wanted to channel my passion for sports into a business that could help others. I initially started by offering personal training to mothers in my local community. While I enjoyed the work, I quickly discovered a deeper niche and a greater impact in training younger athletes. I shifted my focus toward track-specific preparation, helping middle and high school students develop the fundamental techniques and speed necessary to compete at the next level. The results have been incredibly rewarding. One of my long-term clients, whom I began training when they entered 9th grade, recently earned a college track scholarship for the Class of 2025. Additionally, several of the middle schoolers I coached are now top-ranking high school athletes. I’ve also enjoyed working with children as young as five, teaching them the basic mechanics of movement and running. Though I have currently paused services to focus on my own college education and track career, I am eager to resume training during the summer break to continue helping the next generation of athletes reach their full potential.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not always been a smooth road. One of my primary challenges was the necessity to pause my training services to attend college. Being away at school created a gap in my physical presence within the community, making it difficult to maintain the momentum I had built.
Another significant hurdle has been figuring out how to effectively promote my business to new clients upon my return. To overcome this, I have been proactively researching market trends and connecting with potential leads to organize athletic clinics over the summer. Balancing my own collegiate academic and athletic commitments while strategically planning for a business relaunch has required disciplined time management and a clear vision for the future of my training program.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Dash Way Fitness is a specialized athletic training service dedicated to developing speed, strategy, and longevity in track athletes. As a collegiate 400m, 200m, and 100m sprinter myself—with the 400m being my primary race—I specialize in track-specific mechanics and injury prevention.
What sets my brand apart is my focus on teaching correct stretching techniques and “pre-hab” movements that keep athletes on the track and off the sidelines. I am most proud of my ability to work with children who have learning differences or ADHD. Having navigated those same challenges myself, I understand how to adapt my coaching style to meet their specific learning curves, ensuring every child feels capable and confident.
My goal is for clients to know that Dash Way Fitness isn’t just about running faster; it’s about building a strategic, healthy foundation for a lifelong athletic career
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
”As a 20-year-old born and raised in Atlanta, this city is truly home. What I like best is the vibrant energy and the ease with which I can connect with people in my age group. It’s my favorite place to be, and I especially love bringing my friends home from college to explore everything the city has to offer—from the local food scene to the unique spots that only a native would know. It’s a fun, dynamic place that keeps me motivated. If I had to pick a ‘least favorite’ thing, it would simply be the challenge of being away from this environment while I’m at school, as I’m always eager to get back to the community where I started my business.”
