Eric, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As a child, I was always interested in what it meant to promote or sell a particular product or service. In college, I majored in marketing and came to realize that real-world experience, from my vantage point, was more beneficial to me than standardized education. I decided to go with my gut, take the entrepreneurial route, and open up a pizzeria, on campus, with three of my classmates to gain business experience in real-time.
The lessons I learned were invaluable and gave me the confidence to venture out and start my own marketing business.
Has it been a smooth road?
Hell no! The road to success is never paved with ease. If so, my journey would have been a crowded one. Not to sound cliche, but I have taken the road less traveled as an entrepreneur. One of the most pivotal moments in my business happened in 2008 at the onset of the recession. This particular period in our country’s history became a turning point for many entrepreneurs, including myself who had to adjust and make different decisions to help their business stay afloat. The recession forced me to course correct and become more strategic which allowed me to endure one of the toughest moments in my career.
