Meet Erica Jones of The Wing Bar in East Atlanta Village

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erica Jones.

Meet E (aka DJ E) and Asiaa – a legendary DJ and award-winning Spanish teacher turned restauranteurs! They’ve been shaking up the wing game for 6 years as of Feb 1st. In 2017, after stepping out on A LOT of faith, they opened the first location of The Wing Bar in the East Atlanta Village. (It took a WHOLE YEAR to get everything renovated and up to code – they were playing no games about getting it done) After hard work and dedication to becoming THE BEST WINGS IN ATL, The Wing Bar has shot up to the top of many Atlanta best-of lists, including Creative Loafing and Eater Atlanta. In 2019, they expanded the wing empire with the opening of their location in Decatur (after doing some construction with their own two hands!) The sports bar environment and dine-in option make the new location a hot spot for all sports fans + wing lovers! With the addition of their wildly popular vegan wings, aka VINGS™️, they are smashing the Atlanta wing business. The Wing Bar prides itself on quality.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Renovating the first location and getting it up to code was a challenge, but we didn’t let it deter us. It taught us all we need to know about making a restaurant out of nothing. We kept in mind that God wanted us to have it, so we kept moving forward no matter what.

The Wing Bar – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
The Wing Bar prides itself on quality. We get our wings from our local farmers’ market and season them daily with our house spice blend. Our wings are always fresh and NEVER frozen!

Our sauces are mixed in-house and heated fresh to order before they are tossed with your wings, AND our antibiotic-free wings are guaranteed all-natural.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I’m proud that my son is involved in the business with me. He is an intricate part of its success. I rely on him a lot.
