Erik, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
To be honest, how I started black posh mobile wash was simple, I lost my job. The whole time I worked at the job, I talked about saving money, quitting this job to start my car detailing business. Sounded good until I lost the job. I had to question myself, do I find another job or Do what I’ve been saying I wanted to do and start this business. Do it NOW or live behind excuses of why I can’t do it.
In reality, I HAD NO EXCUSES WHY I COULDN’T DO IT because I saved up the money to buy everything I needed. I decided to discipline myself and really get focused On it. Took the money I had saved and invested everything (down to my last $100, no income, business not up and running yet) I had to get what I needed. Did that and started putting in the groundwork EVERYDAY, CONSISTENTLY with my partner Marcos Ciena!! five years later We’re still here because of the sacrifices I made when my back was against the wall.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Smooth road? Absolutely not. For those who don’t know, there are numerous obstacles when it comes to Starting a business. When starting a brand from the ground up, you have to get out there and make a name for yourself. Doing work sometimes for cheap just to make some type of income for the day. That’s a sacrifice you’ll have to be willing to make to build your clientele up. The worst challenge we had to overcome was inevitable; the weather. ATLANTA weather to be exact. Sunny one day, rainy the next five days, then snowing the next. When it would rain, that meant we wouldn’t be physically working making money. I would say Those were a few obstacles we endured but overcame over the years.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Black Posh Mobile Wash story. Tell us more about the business.
Black posh mobile wash, a car wash on wheels. We are a MOBILE car detailing business that caters to your vehicle at the convenience of your choice. Whether that be at the office while working, at the hair salon before your date, or even the comfort of your own home. We specialize in quick basic “wash and vacuum” details, full thorough inside detailing to remove stains or even a nice layer of protection on the exterior of your car. Anything to make it look like a new vehicle again.
I would say one of my proudest moments thus-far has to be achieved five years in business. Its a blessing to see your first year but even more honored to see five. Oh, how could I forget, another proud moment when you’re the one detailing the Home team Atlanta Falcons players vehicles weekly. RISE UP! #AtlantaFalconsXBlackposh
What I would say separates my company from others is the passionate behind it. We believe the relationships built with clients & the quality of the service is more important than any amount of money. We Focus on building genuine relationships that will benefit both the client and the company for years to come.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I can’t really say luck has played a role in my life to a point where I’m saying I have what I have or am where I am because of it. I’m a firm believer in energy. What energy you put out into the universe will come back someway somehow. Good or bad. I just live my life and run my business in the way I feel is right. If your Intentions are pure and you make daily decisions within integrity, I believe blessing will come.
