Meet Erin Bracey of The Erin B in Marietta and Surrounding Areas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Bracey.

Erin, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m a real Southern Belle from Jackson, MS. Growing up, I was always viewed as one of the “fat kids” so modeling was something I never imagined I could do. Even though I was cheer captain during high school and was also crowned as Miss Terry High School, I had very little confidence in myself. I entered college at Mississippi University for Women. During my first few weeks of college, I noticed a flyer for modeling tryouts for Elite Modeling Squad. After contemplating for days because I was far from society’s traditional model size, my parents and friends convinced me to attend the tryouts. To my surprise, even with me being plus-sized and curvaceous, I made the squad. It was a major accomplishment for me. This was the beginning of a new era for Erin. Elite Modeling Squad gave me the opportunity to network with different designers, participate in several fashion shows, and most importantly gain the confidence I lacked for years. I later became the president of Elite Modeling Squad. This opportunity deepened my love for modeling because this position came with great responsibility and dedication. After graduating, I became very determined to become healthier and I was able to transform into the best shape of my life, but I did not think I would ever model again. I moved to the Atlanta area and I am blessed to be able to brand myself in a new city and state. I am looking forward to the opportunities to come and grateful for the ones I’ve had thus far. My main goal is to inspire others to love themselves and see the true beauty they possess.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
This has definitely been a journey full of obstacles. Many of those obstacles were a battle with self, but through this journey, I have learned who I am and how beautiful I am beyond the lense.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am an independent, freelance model. I do not limit myself to one art form. I think it is important to broaden my horizon and perfect my craft. My main focus is to make myself and others smile when they see The Erin B.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
The people that deserve the most credit are the people that have been a part of this journey. These people include my wonderful parents and big brother, my friends and family, every designer, makeup artist, hair stylist, and photographer I have worked with over the years and most importantly any and everyone that has supported me and continues to support me today. I would like to give a special Thank You to my manager and sister, Cesily Bracey, for all of the hard work and selflessness you continue to show me. I love and appreciate each and everyone of you! I hope I continue to make you proud!
