Meet Erin Jackson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Jackson.

Hi Erin, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My transition from RN to Business Owner began 6-8 years ago. I spent years wanting to make a great impact on public health, but my past job was more concerned with profits than people. And slowly I started to become annoyed and short-tempered with my duties as an RN. As a way to reset, recenter and refocus (I now call it self-care), pedicures were that outlet. But I always enjoyed a good pedicure. I found myself looking for a pedicurist that personable, professional and knowledgeable that fit my budget. In my quest to looking, my job that was more concerned with profits than people transferred me where I started working with various dermatologist and podiatrist. That is where I realized where I can merge pedicures, public health and nursing into a meaningful platform. An idea where preventive care, wellness and safety is held to the highest standards. In 2020, with the help of COVID-19, the Great Resignation and a visit to the Bonner Brothers Hair Show. The Gemini Studio was established.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Most small business owners are a team few and not many. In business, you have to embrace pivoting. And that was the hardest part. For example, nobody to lease their property to. As soon as they heard the name of the business did not have Brand Recognition: I was totally dismissed. Intown leasing companies are dismissive in nature. Even the application process was denied to me. But faith and the pandemic allowed for me to find the perfect spot after months of being denied to fill out an application for many of the intown properties many people see vacant.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
The Gemini Studio and Erin, RN are committed to ensuring infection control practices during our various pedicure services.

Clients are reported to have become gravely ill, suffered unnecessarily, and even died from infections contracted in nail salons. Clients with chronic diagnoses, such as diabetes, heart disease, autoimmune disease, blood disorders and individuals receiving chemotherapy, radiation, or Tumor Resection Surgery suffer even more and are more likely to become infected with nail disease. However, certain procedures in a salon can ensure that this will not happen, and The Gemini Studio is investing in this vital education for their technicians and in the necessary equipment to support this prevention. One important piece of equipment The Gemini Studio purchased to support the prevention of disease transfer is an Autoclave. This equipment provides the highest level of sterilization of implements available. All infectious viruses and bacteria are annihilated by this method of prevention.

The Gemini Studio located at East Atlanta invites clients who are concerned about their safety to call for an appointment with Erin. Her FNT training provides a welcome confidence in their safety for clients, allowing enhanced relaxation during their service. Call 678-974-5463 for an appointment today.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Looking back at my childhood. I was two people. Two personalities. Personality A: I am a people pleaser and still am to a certain degree. And when I see things are not being done. Personality B steps up or may take over. That is the Gemini in ME.
