Meet Eseoghene Keniye of Le Beau Monde in Buckhead

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eseoghene Keniye.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I just want to say how truly honored I am to be given the opportunity to share my story! Where do I even begin? I guess I’ll start from the very start. I was born in Nigeria and hopped around between Nigeria and the UK before finally settling down in the US, where I completed high school and some college before moving to Europe, where I’m currently studying medicine. Fashion has always been my first love. The ability to express one’s self and uniqueness through their style or an outfit is very dear to me because I’ve always been shy and introverted, and my outfits has always been a medium for me to express my individuality as a person, and my style was always what I was known for.

People always ask where I get my fits from, and I always loved telling them where it was from, I’ll send a link and all, so when the opportunity came for me to be able to curate different styles and fits for my boutique, I had to go for it, I’ve truly enjoyed every moment of owning a boutique, whether it be sourcing the right vendors, creating content for the site, shipping packages or interacting with customers or as I love to call them, Beau Babes, I feel truly blessed to be able to do what I love, there’s no better feeling than doing something you’re passionate about and becoming your own boss.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I’ve always been my biggest critic, sometimes to my own detriment, but with the help and support of my mum, family, and friends, they have always helped in reassuring and motivating me, they’ve been very supportive of me and my business, which has helped me navigate through my own self-doubts. But it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, especially since I started Le Beau Monde at a whim. But through everything, it has been a blessing, and I’ve loved every moment of it, the good and bad days. And as a small business owner, I do everything myself, I’m my own model, photographer, graphic designer, marketer, social media handler, I do it all.

It has challenged me, pushed my creative bounds, and allowed me to explore different creative avenues within myself. There were days where I made a lot of sales and some days where I only made a few, and I had to give myself pep talks to keep going, and I’m so so thankful for my mum and her IG message spams of motivational quotes and her always helping me always keep a positive outlook on my business. Throughout the ups and downs, being a business owner has taught me the art of perseverance, and it has forced me to bet on myself, and for that, I’m grateful.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Le Beau Monde is an online fashion boutique providing women’s clothing for the babes that refuse to conform their style into a box. My main goal is to provide quality and affordable clothing that make women feel beautiful and confident. Often times, people ask me where the name Le Beau Monde comes from, and it’s actually kind of a funny story, but it’s french from the renaissance era used to describe the fashion society, and I felt it was very fitting for my brand because we represent class, style and are far more than modish. My company prides itself on great customer service, fast shipping, affordability, and lastly but not least, quality and functional clothing. LBM is just three months and the genuine support from family friends and especially strangers have been a testament to everything that we uphold. The Beau Babe Club is basically all LBM supporters and customers, and it’s what sets us apart from others, the sisterhood of friendship and women uplifting each other and our emphasis on confidence being the best accessory.

My goal is always to make Beau babes feel beautiful, confident and bold in our items and how they choose to express their selves in their different styles, whatever that may be. LBM is not just a boutique but your personal stylist as well, oftentimes I do style videos on our items on different ways to style an outfit. Because I strongly believe in finding clothing that can be functional and worn in different ways, all while maintaining your own sense of style and Le Beau Monde is your one-stop shop in finding an outfit no matter what you define your style as. We’re are still growing and constantly evolving and are currently working on our own custom clothing which is all very exciting.

How do you, personally, define success? What’s your criteria, the markers you’re looking out for, etc?
Success to me is being able to feel proud and content in yourself and genuinely loving what you do. There’s no better feeling than setting goals for yourself and crushing them, no matter how little they may be. The criteria for success is self-worth. Once you realize your potential and tap into it, the sky becomes your limit, and you need to shoot for the stars! Personally I define success as living up to my fullest potential, being in the position to help people, and having a positive impact on people’s lives, whether it be a fashion or a medical emergency. And I believe the key to success is giving to others, giving advice, giving support, giving your knowledge, giving your time, giving your love.

I recently read a book called The Go-Giver by Bob Burg and John David Mann, which was so inspiring to me and reEmphasized everything I believe in. According to the book, the most successful people and businesses are the most generous, which makes perfect sense. Success shouldn’t be defined by what you have but rather how much you’ve impacted and inspired people, all while becoming your best self.
