Today we’d like to introduce you to Eva Woods.
Eva, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My obsession with effective skincare came about with looking for a solution for my oldest daughter’s eczema. I found that most of the big name bath and body companies put a lot of ingredients and fragrances in their products that left my little girl itchy, chaffed, and broken out into hives. I started attending street fares in ATL and began purchasing handmade all natural soaps and butters from local artisans and the products helped tremendously.
I frequented street fares whenever I could but never got the same artisan twice and thought that would be a great opportunity to create ApotheLuxe!
I wanted to marry my new love for all natural remedies with my taste for luxury and fine aesthetic and birthed ApotheLuxe.
Luxury Apothecary.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road to say the lease. I started this company with just a vision and about 6-8 months of planning and research about ingredients and vendors that would supply them and came up with the fact that it would be a little expensive to get started. A major hurdle I was facing at the time was having had a new baby and no job security and then having no job at all to fall back on. I was afraid to take my savings and pour them into a new business. I’m glad I took that risk and changed my life.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a licensed Esthetician in Georgia specializing in corrective skin care. ApotheLuxe helped me find this new purpose in life of being a skin therapist and I’m eternally grateful. I’m known for my knowledge about skin and the ingredients it needs to glow and thrive at its fullest potential. I’m most proud of myself for attending the Elaine Sterling Institute and graduating with so many odds against me.
What are your plans for the future?
I am looking forward to expanding the esthetics portion of my business into the NYC area. Even though ApotheLuxe was born in ATL, I am forever repping the greatest city in the world NYC where most of my customers are based.
