Evanne , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Evanne Vernon , aka Micah is a Belizean American international singer and songwriter. Micah has been performing since the age of 4 years old and attended fine arts school in Chicago where we was able to develop and hone her skills as a performer. Micah was signed to her first recording contract at the age of 18 years old. Micah has since toured in Jamaica , Mexico ,Guatemala , Belize and various venues around United States.
Micah has cultivated a sound uniquely her own blending reggae , dancehall , pop , hip hop and reggae-ton. paying homage to her unique upbringing between Chicago and Belize. Micah is currently working on a debut album in which she hopes to capture the ears of new fans around the world.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Pursuing a professional career as a artist hasn’t always been easy, In Micahs earlier years she always had a fire for performing and being on stage, However learning the business did take a while after being taken advantage of with a few bad contracts in her earlier record deals. Micah has now started her indie label and publishing where she believes its best for artist to have complete ownership
