Meet Evelyn Flemons of Injury Relief Chiropractic in Gainesville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Evelyn Flemons.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Evelyn. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I knew from the very beginning that I wanted to do something within the medical field of some sort. I was contemplating between dentistry and ob/GYN, Chiropractic was not even on the radar as a choice. I chose chiropractic during my last year of college at Ole miss, where I attended a seminar based on chiropractic. I then decided to shadow a local chiropractor and once I discovered that chiropractic was not just a one field specialty, I was all in.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Having my own practice did not come easy. I had to work myself up to get to that point. I decided after three years of being an associate that it was time to move on to the next level of entrepreneurship by the faith of God. College does not prepare you for real situations such as starting and maintaining a business. One of the struggles that I encountered was just knowing that I had to work harder than the average bear because I was both a minority and a female within a male-dominated field. Another struggle was just being persistent with getting my business out there to the public while still actively practicing as a chiropractor.

Injury Relief Chiropractic – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Our business uses chiropractic to treat a wide range of health conditions. If you have neck pain, back pain, extremity pain, sciatica, scoliosis, headaches or migraines, we can provide all-natural pain relief with chiropractic adjustments.

We offer several styles of chiropractic adjustments and physiotherapy to alleviate pain and inflammation from injuries. We tailor the adjustment technique to each patient because each individual is different and may respond differently. We also offer nutrition supplements. It is a highlight for us when we see patients come in due to an injury and continue as a wellness patient once they have recovered. What sets me apart from others is able to relate to my patients more on a personal level to make them feel at home and not just at a medical facility.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is striving to do more than just the minimum. Once you have mastered one thing, move on to something else and just keep building. I have to hit certain markers such as leaving something (legacy) for my daughters to be proud of and for them to possibly build on to that.
