Meet Fallon Clark of Chattanooga TN

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fallon Clark.

Hi Fallon , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Fallon Clark and I am the Founder and Executive Director of Noogavision Theatre and Performing Arts Co.

I’m originally from Milan Tn, graduate of University of Tennessee at Chattanooga currently working towards my Master’s in Public Administration with a concentration in Non-Profit Management there also. I am one of the Talent Acquisition Specialists for Airgas Inc. home base Atlanta, Ga however I have been fortunate to live and work remote here in ChattaNOOGA, which I’ve grown to love dearly. Prior to taking corporate America seriously lol I was a performing artist full time. I’ve been on stage my entire life. From highschool theatre to local and regional theatre to touring with a coverband and, appearing in local/ regional commercials, quite a bit of film extra work and featured in national broadcasts for TBN.

Noogavision Theatre and Performing Arts Co is a non-profit (501c3) semi-professional regional theatre founded in 2022. Noogavision stemmed from experiences working as a professional performing artist and a single final conversation with area local performing artists that expressed a void in the Chattanooga arts community. While there are many facets of entertainment in the local arts community- this particular group mentioned 3 primary concerns—seeking to provide consistent arts education to youth with little to no arts access, producing shows that provide opportunities to bring awareness to mental health issues and/or social justice issues while elevating marginalized voices, and reducing the earning gap between the artist and producers which also involves artists’ professional development.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As a single mom of one amazing son- finding a healthy work/family/ life balance has always been a challenge however it has never stopped me. My son movitates me daily with thoughts of what type of legacy will I leave. It has always been important that he witness my persistance, tenacity, and happiness—I am firm believer of leading by example. We don’t quit. We keep walking and doing what we love and fulfill God’s purpose for our lives. This challenge is also what motivated to begin a career in Human Resources—where I can make a difference in the workforce through advocating for higher wages and work place programs that support healthy work/life boundaries.

As the founder of a Non-profit Arts Organization, the greatest challenge has been balancing working full-time in corporate America while building an organization from scratch.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I work full-time as a Talent Acquisition Specialist (HR Professional), currently working towards my Master’s in Public Administration w/ a concentration in Non-Profit Management as I am the Founder of a Non-Profit Arts Organization (Noogavision Theatre and Performing Arts Co.)

My professional background in Human Resources combined with my professional experience as an actress/performing artist is what gave me the confidence to start a theatre company. Art is transformative and empowering. I saw a void in the community I live in and decided to fill it. Since our inception in 2022, Our mission to empower communities through the arts is guided by our 3 A’s- Arts in Mental Health, Arts Education, and Artists Equity. While we encompass all the traditional components of theatre we recognize theatre as a tool and a conduit for individual transformation and change. Some would not agree that the arts change the world, however it is evident that the arts have the power to shift perceptions and to change the human being that might change the world.

Our debut production of LUCE: A Dramatic Stage Play-which I also directed ( a play about a suspicious teenager that ultimately addresses issues of privilege, race, and trust) holds a very special place in our hearts.
It served as the 1st installation of our mental health awareness theatre series and was viewed by nearly 300 community members over the span of 4 full show runs and 1 staged reading. Out of the number who attended we were able to directly connect 7 families to a mental health professional and assisted 1 mother with forming a single parent support group. That fulfilled our why… of empowerment through the arts.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lessons I’ve learned.

-All things align accordingly.
-Control what you can control.
-In all things you have a choice.
-Dwell in spaces that value you and don’t lose sleep over anything that doesn’t.
-And when you aren’t welcome to sit at the table, build your own.
