Meet Faye Love of Double F PNP

Today we’d like to introduce you to Faye Love.

Hi Faye, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Double F PNP was started in the midst of the pandemic as a promotions company acting as a hub, connecting artists to venues, resources, and each other. Over time as we traveled and build our own network of connections, we decided to book our own artists for events. In our encounters with various artists, we realized three main things. The lack of artist education about proper monetization, the lack of social media marketing, and the lack of show opportunities with proper presentation. From those three needs, we saw a way for Double F PNP to evolve into a business that can truly help an artist gain and keep all of their earnings, manage and grow their social media organically, and present them as well-polished artists on the BET platforms that we represent.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I love this question because it’s what I wanted to really focus the attention on for this interview. We work really hard to help artists as it the core mission of our company. We just held a pre-show in Atlanta on September 29 at King of Diamonds in Forest Park, GA for the BET Hip Hop awards. We rented out the venue by paying the owner, Jay Phillips, an agreed-upon amount to cover what he usually makes at the door and the agreement was we would keep all door sales and the establishment would keep all liquor sales. We also discussed the floor plans and VIP sections and made a plan for where our artists were to be accommodated and where the main artist Goya Menor out of Laos, Nigeria would be accommodated. There was no discussion about costs for parking in addition to ticket sales etc. When we arrived, I was sent to the door where I should have been checking in our artists, providing them with wristbands, sending them off to their already discussed sections with the owner, checking in our Eventbrite ticket holders and cash at the door entry. The owner had his own door person checking in people through an Eventbrite link that he ran behind ours, cash was going into their drawer, people were coming in saying, “Jay said I’m good,” and even some cashapp payments to their business cashapp. When we confronted them, he had no excuses and told us that we would have to cover security and other various costs and offered us a measly $375 at the end of the night where he typically clears $8k-$10k just at the door. This is what we paid to rent the venue. We traveled through Hurricane Ian (driving because our flights were canceled and even got stranded without gas because the pumps automatically shut down during the natural disaster). Due to the lack of professionalism and basic common sense on the owner’s part we were unable to start our performances on time, some of the artists were told they could not perform by the DJ so we had to go straighten that out. The bottle girls were worried more about their tips and dances then providing the bottle service that we agreed upon. They weren’t supposed to be on stage at all unless the artists requested it and they literally were in all the footage that can’t be used across all our platforms. We rented out King of Diamonds as a venue and he thought we were there to party it was a mess.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We specialize in artist development, presentation, and rollout. We work with our clients one on one to establish all their paperwork first and foremost. Then we develop their marketing plan based on where they are at in their career. Each plan is tailored to fit the needs and budget of the individual we are working with and all opportunities and resources we have are made available to them. We do our best to push and propel them as far as we can and as their budget will allow. What sets us apart is the fact that one of is a business and sales professional in the PR space and one of us is an artist that understands the needs and expectations that an artist has for their career. Brand wise we are most proud of our partners, sponsors, network, and resources. We work all artists and industry professionals and we are available by phone, Instagram dm, and email.
