Today we’d like to introduce you to Felica Morgan.
Hi Felica, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I suddenly found myself a single mom, carrying the weight of all the usual worries about my kids. I thought I had checked every box to make sure their transition was as smooth as possible. What I didn’t realize was that I, too, was part of their concern.
As they grew older, my children wanted to make sure I was celebrated—especially on holidays. My son would often say, “I have to get a gift for my mom. No matter how much I assured him it didn’t matter, I came to realize it did to him. ” With the support of my friends, family, and village, they always found a way to make sure they were able to pick out gifts for me. Gifts for Moms was founded from this love I experience daily from my children and village.
At Christmas and Mother’s Day children of single moms are able to come and shop for free gifts for their moms. They are able to pick out the gift and have it wrapped before leaving. The moms are able to wait and enjoy light snacks and food. The family also take pictures and talk to other attending families.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I sat on the idea for many years before I moved forward. I have had two events so far and I am hosting the third one soon.
The events are always special and heart warming. However, I am still looking for a consistent location to host the event. I am always looking for sponsors and donations to help make this event special.

I have been an educator for over twenty years. I’m known for integrating technology in creative ways that make classrooms more engaging and accessible.
Beyond the classroom, I’m the founder of Gifts for Moms, a platform that honors and uplifts single mothers.
I also bring my passion for learning into community spaces through Coffeehouse Education, a new endeavor focused on educational consulting and coaching.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was an avid reader who could finish a book in a single day. I loved spending time with my family, playing piano, and church was a central part of my childhood. I’ve always been a bit talkative and someone who enjoys a good laugh, which made those moments of connection even more meaningful.
