Today we’d like to introduce you to Florencia Silva
Hi Florencia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I graduated high school in Clayton County and made the decision not to go to college so I could fully commit to pursuing my dreams. Shortly after graduating, I moved to the city to be closer to more opportunities. While booking modeling gigs, I worked as a front desk receptionist at a law firm that was thankfully very flexible, allowing me to attend casting calls and take on different projects.
Over time, I built my network and worked on a variety of gigs.. photoshoots, music videos, fashion shows, hosting events, and even becoming a Wild ’N Out girl for a few seasons. I made sure to leave a lasting impression with everyone I worked with photographers, directors, producers while also attending industry events to continue expanding my reach. Those experiences gave me the exposure I needed to break into the industry.
When COVID hit in 2020, I was let go from my job, but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. It gave me the time to fully dedicate myself to my passion, acting. While modeling was fun, acting has always been my true calling. Thanks to the work I had already done and the people I had met, I found myself in the right rooms for auditions and casting opportunities. I started taking acting classes full-time and booking small roles, all while continuing to gain experience behind the scenes in various projects. Today, I’m still actively pursuing acting full-time while staying involved in different aspects of the industry.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been an extremely tough road, but it definitely comes with challenges. Being a woman in a male dominated industry can be tricky. You have to navigate certain situations carefully and stand firm in your worth knowing when to say no and staying true to yourself is key.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m both an actress and a model with experience in both on camera and behind-the-scenes work. I’ve worked with many celebrities on TV, music videos, and have even tapped into the skit world as an actress and producer.
What sets me apart is my versatility and work ethic I’ve had the pleasure of exploring different roles within the industry which gives me a unique perspective.. I take pride in the reputation I’ve established by always showing up, prepared and professional.. You can tell I love what I do. I’m most proud of how far I’ve come and the fact that I’m still pushing forward passionately.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People usually reach out to me through Instagram. I have an email listed there for direct inquiry. Social media is the best way to support me engaging with my content, sharing my work and staying tuned for upcoming projects. It’s @Flo.fever
