Today we’d like to introduce you to Fran Pope.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Born and raised in Atlanta, GA. Grew up in Bowen homes parent Yolande and Big E so let’s get into it. Back in 2018, I started my business selling charcoal activated teeth whitening powder after being fired when I was six months from a dental insurance company. I knew from that day my days of working for someone else was over but I wasn’t quite motivated with what I had going on at the moment so yet I went searching for another job to make ends meet. So bomb I ended up within an aps school system working in a kitchen. I absolutely hated but being a parent had to do what needed to be done until it came to a point where I just couldn’t do it anymore. My husband has this brand pys (pay ya self) at the moment he asked me are you going to continue working for someone are you gone step out on faith and pay ya self. I decided to do just that so fast forward not only was I selling charcoal to whitening the teeth, I added mobile teeth whitening services to the list. So after being mobile for awhile I decided it was time for my business a home where I got my first suite at Johnny Flamingo salon it southwest ATL. I out grew that space in months found a new location in East Point at Lux studio suites where I then added body sculpting a noninvasive procedure VSteams for womb care and post op for women who’ve had surgery. My husband bought the machines etc. needed I worked & built my clientele up from there and then I got my own shop located on the Southside where I have three tenants on my teams and they are all amazing. It’s like a one stop shop where we service women, we offer services from mink lash extensions to nails and pedicures to clothing apparel and much more it’s definitely been a blessing. I’m glad to have my family by my side they’ve been my backbone and support through it. I recently just opened a second location for other business owners to rent suites for their businesses that’s doing great. The house is full, me and my husband also run a live character rental for kid’s party and we have a party bus for kids and adults, so just looking back on my past, I’ve come along way and I’ve grateful for the favor that’s been showered amongst me.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been many obstacles but I just pray my way through it out from tenants leaving to business slowing but now, things are at a steady pace and I will say to any upcoming business owner stay strong. Nothing comes easy but victory always comes after the storm.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I specialize in three of many known services in the spa field which are VSteam, body sculpting and lymphatic massages. My brand is amazing; it’s one of a kind yea it’s a lot of business owners doing but not like me. I take pride in my company. I’m training my kids so they will soon be able to run it as their own but it’s definitely something to see the vibe and energy is top tier.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
That I’m a real go getter I don’t stop, I don’t quit and I’m a brilliant young that not only wanna see myself win but I’m rooting for everyone. I am the women that empower others.
