Meet Frank Scheuren and Kenneth Bond of Milano Pizza and Subs in Dunwoody

Today we’d like to introduce you to Frank Scheuren Kenneth Bond.

Milano Pizza & Subs truly offers a slice of the American Dream. It is exactly the sort of hole in the wall spot with delicious cheap food that makes New Yorkers swoon. A wall of honor guests can browse while waiting for orders is an example of unlimited American opportunity to those who work hard, play by the rules and persist. Owners Frank Scheuren and Ken Bond spent the 80’s as volunteer agitators in the Sexual Evolution and Civil Rights Movement, and they hope the wall serves as a reminder and inspiration. In a reverse twist of the American Dream they purchased their first shop in Midtown Atlanta’s Poncey Highland from an Iranian-American couple. With no money down they signed a three-year note, learned everything they could from Bari Food’s Mike Scordino, borrowed 150.00 for the opening bank and turned the key 1/1/92. They have run the Dunwoody location continuously since 1997. The cozy hearth at Dunwoody’s Georgetown Shopping Center seems stubbornly, defiantly old school. Staff are more likely to be middle aged rather than millennials. There are no TV’ or beer taps, (but Free Wi-Fi). The original quaintness and non-chain vibe are a part of the charm. Because good, chap food served up with heart and soul will never go out of style
