Today we’d like to introduce you to Fransiskus (Francis) Indianto.
Fransiskus, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Francis Indianto and Teresa Wiguna immigrated to the United States alongside our son and daughter. I have been in love with food ever since I grow up, and it was hard work to get where I am today.
We have been in the restaurant business since 2008. Both my wife and I bought Chris’ Pizza as we took over the business from a family friend, and my family has become a part of Chris’ Pizza. Chris’ Pizza has been a part of my family. I want to share our food and my family’s warmth to our customers’ in this growing community.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been a smooth road, as we have gotten some changes in terms of the rent increase. Our rent has increased to almost 150 percent. A lot of the smaller stores within Toco Hills have shut their doors, and new ones have replaced it.
We have been very blessed to have a very loyal following within our community. We really appreciate everyone’s love and support through this time. The support has been tremendous, and our family is eternally grateful. We love to provide good made from scratch food that my family also enjoys.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Chris’ Pizza story. Tell us more about the business.
Chris’ Pizza focuses on modern American Greek Bistro, that procures as much as local ingredients as possible. Our customer enjoys made from scratch, fresh and wholesome meal with a twist of the Greek isles. Chris Pizza is the place that the customer can get Brunch, lunch and dinner.
We always focus in providing consistent meal and service. We try to focus on the value of community and family as that is core to our family. We serve all of our customers like they are a family of mine.
I am most proud of the community that I live in. What sets us apart from others is our continuous focus in fresh ingredients and warm service…
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
My family and I have been very grateful throughout our life in this neighborhood.
Without the dedication and hard work, I don’t think our small business can thrive as much as it is today. I believe that through challenges I have become a stronger and more acute small-business owner.
Also, I really think the community has really supported our message at Chris’ Pizza restaurant, which is to provide good quality food with warm service. Every customer should be greeted as if they are part of my family.
