Meet Gain. of gain.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gain..

Hi gain., please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
gain. is the brainchild of Katie Wetzel and Erin McDevitt. We’re two women who realized a strength training gym with classes and programming, and community designed just for women was missing from Atlanta; so, we decided to build it ourselves. We were working as personal trainers in Atlanta, and started to notice a theme: women are scared of the weight section. They don’t feel welcome in big box gyms, HIIT classes can be too much, and being coached by women makes a big difference. Over years of training, we had separately been building small group classes just for women and realized that there was a huge demand for a safe, empowering space where women can build confidence and skills in the gym. Once we combined forces and created gain. together, we started small with pop ups and residencies, growing our little brand and business until we were ready to open our own doors in May 2025. Since then, we’ve been coaching hundreds of women, helping them learn the skills they need to be strong and independent for life.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We’ve had struggles, and I’m sure we’ll continue to as we grow. It’s never easy to take a risk and open your own business, especially when you’re trying to keep it intentional and intimate. We started super small – in a garage – which had its own challenges. Finding a permanent home of our own took much longer than we expected, and navigating opening a brick and mortar with no experience has been an absolute trip of learning. There’s so much we didn’t know and have had to figure out along the way, but it’s been so incredibly rewarding to figure it out and have the support of such an amazing community.

As you know, we’re big fans of gain.. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
gain. is a strength training gym built specifically for women and non-binary folks. We primary host small-group classes, which helps to bridge the gap between personal training and traditional group fitness and make individual hands-on coaching more accessible. Our space is intimate, our coaches are top tier, and our pacing is conducive to a learning environment. We push our members to challenge themselves, listen to their bodies, and try new things that will support their bodies, minds, and spirits. Our programming is incredibly intentional, incorporating elements of mobility, strength, and conditioning.

We offer personal training and small group fitness; plus, we’re often hosting community-focused events like run clubs and flow nights.

We don’t want to brag, but our members have told us that theirs nothing else like gain.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
We LOVE the diversity and energy of Atlanta. There really is something for everyone, and it feels like opportunities are nearly endless. Like most folks around town, we don’t love the congestion and heavy traffic – we love growth and expansion, and we’re really grateful to be located off the beltline, because the traffic lights really test our members’ patience!
