Today we’d like to introduce you to Garth Warner II (garthchocolate).
Hi Garth, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my entertainment journey after college. I was a high jumper at The Norfolk State University and wanted to pursue a career as professional athlete. But COVID forced the world to shut down and ended my academic and athletic career early. I did, however, graduate in May 2020 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. Not knowing what to do or where to go, I turned to God. My cousin sent me a flyer for a basketball movie that was auditioning in my home state of Delaware. I went to the tryouts and eventually got a call back to be in the movie. The movie was Adam Sandler’s Hustle which was filmed in Philadelphia. While on set, they were auditioning the basketball players for a speaking role in the film. Out of all 25 of us that were casted they selected me and that’s how my acting journey began.
I also started my TikTok journey around the same time while also working in social services for the state of Delaware. I was miserable working there but I knew God had something better for me. One night I fell asleep while reading the Bible and had a dream that I needed to move to Atlanta. I woke up the next morning on a mission to save as much money as possible to prepare for the move. I quit my job in January of 2023 and rented out an Airbnb for the month of March in Atlanta to make sure I will be able to make it out here. For that whole month, I was posting on TikTok three times a day as well as booking background roles for shows like BMF on Starz. I went back to Delaware and knew I was ready to move. I finally moved in June of 2023. At first, it was rough, but as time went on things started improving. My TikTok continued to grow. I was also able to be a part of more productions. Fast forward to 2025, I’ve been able to work alongside many celebrities on numerous projects. I currently have over half a million followers on TikTok and have developed relationships with many of my favorite artists.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There were definitely challenges along the way, 2020 was one of the hardest years of my life. First, Kobe Bryant passed away in January, my grandfather passed away in February and then my college transitioned to virtual learning. The switch to virtual learning put an end to in person graduation. I also wasn’t able to finish out my track career. Moving to Atlanta was also rough. The first night I moved here I locked my keys in my car. Also, my car has been broken into multiple times. I was away from all my friends and family in Delaware. Breaking into the industry is has been difficult and often it seems like I’m chasing a dream that’s impossible to achieve.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Whenever people ask me, what do I do for work, I just say I follow God. There’s no way that I’ve gotten this far without the man above. I am a content creator, actor, Dj, music curator and entrepreneur. I’m most known for my platform on TikTok. I specialize in making content revolving around music. I’m most proud of myself for taking the leap of faith and moving to Atlanta to grow my audience and opportunities. I believe what sets me apart from others is my faith, my ability to work, my ear from music, my generosity, and my humility.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
The Pivot podcast helped me understand that it’s not about how you start about how you finish. I watch A Million Dollars Worth of Game as well. It’s helped me develop a “go get it” mindset. My favorite content creator, DDG, has also helped motivate me to become successful as well. Some books that I’ve read are Warrior of the Light by Paulo Coelho, The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz, Discipline is Destiny by Ryan Holiday, and Born to Run by Christopher McDougall. All of these books inspired me to keep going in the face of adversity.
