Meet George Lott of T8FLIGHT Entertainment

Today we’d like to introduce you to George Lott.

George, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’m originally from Plant City Florida aka the “itty bitty.” I first got a taste of Atlanta by meeting Jermaine Dupri. I got invited to the launch of his GLOBAL 14 social networking Site, in which I wrote and recorded the theme song for. I just remember loving the Atlanta vibe. And it was when I felt that I was supposed to live here. Time went by, and I was “dating” Atlanta (traveling back and forth from Florida) to work on music. I was in the studio with my friend “CLINT” who has produced music for the stars. At the time he was featured in the movie Anchor Man and I was so interested in learning the process and he basically told me that Atlanta had great opportunities for people to work background for movies that were filming local. He gave me the info…and that’s what started my journey of breaking in the movie world. It was a fun journey doing background work. I got featured in All Eyez On Me, Office Christmas Party, Honey 4..the list goes on…I ended up meeting Director David E Talbert, working on his Movie “Almost Christmas” in which he later became my mentor.

After some time I wanted more after learning as much as I could from the set experience of “BG” I then started to go to “The Booking Room” Taught by Actors Patrick Walker, Jarrett Michael Collins, and Travis LaBranch. There is where I learned so many fundamentals of the craft from all aspects. Improv, auditions, self-tape, Taxes. I had never experienced a session like it before. You’re literally in a room with working actors and beginners…no egos, everybody is there to learn and to grow. After going for about a year…Patrick pulled me to the side one night said: “No more Background work…you’re better than that.” And little did he know he was confirming what I had already felt inside so I quit. As of today, I am signed with J Pervis Talent Agency, one of the top agencies in the southeastern region. I’m a reoccurring character on CW’s Blacklightning. I play “BIG” member of the 100 Gang. I am gearing up for my Big Screen Debut in Universal pictures “Little” starring Marsai Martin, Issa Rae and Regina Hall. I’m also set to make an appearance in Taraji P Henson’s “What Men Want.” And The New Shaft Movie.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No…in fact this journey is an obstacle course for sure. I think being FEARLESS and becoming numb to rejection is the best thing I could’ve done. I am Auditioning for Major things…and to know I’m being considered for a role and don’t get it..can be crushing on confidence if you let it…but you have to keep going..because you love it and eventually your YES will come. Being an entrepreneur is great for living the “Actor Life” because in between filming and bookings…I’m forced to exercise other gifts and skills to bring in the income.

T8FLIGHT Entertainment – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I started T8FLIGHT Entertainment about five years ago. I loved the music business so the 1st thing I did was sign unknown local talent….put them through artist Development and they would eventually build a name for themselves. I was known for taking an artist and within eight months they were Opening for a televised on a lineup of all the top artist in their genre of music. That’s also one of the proudest moments I had playing a role in that person’s journey. Now I specialize in Branding Consulting. Helping people identify their brand, their lane and making it work for their career. What makes my company different is its inspirational company, driven by positivity.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Living Purposeful, Doing what I love, helping people, making a positive change in the world and getting paid to do it.
