Meet Gerreanda Dunn of Gigi Told’Em in Augusta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gerreanda Dunn.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Gerreanda. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Gigi Told’Em started out as me helping my friends on Facebook share their businesses. I have always been a person who loves to help others. Before the pandemic, I didn’t have much time on my hands with working a full-time job, being a mother (which is another full-time job), and going to school full-time. So whenever I was on social media, I would share other people’s businesses.

My friends and family would always ask why won’t I start a business helping others promote and I would always say I didn’t have the time (lol). Well, when the pandemic happened I didn’t have an excuse so I began to do my paperwork for my LLC and get things in order. Before I knew it, my business was taking off and I just went with the flow. I have always dreamed of working for myself and even though it happened in a trying time, I thought it was now or never so I stepped out on faith and started my business.

Has it been a smooth road?
This journey to entrepreneurship has not been easy but I am thankful for each turn it has taken me on. The long nights and hard work has truly paid off in the end. There are times where I wanted to give up because business was slow or the people who I thought were going to support me didn’t but I couldn’t let that stop the vision that I had for my business. People think that starting your own business is easy but let me be the one to tell you it’s not. I’m not saying that to discourage anyone because it is so rewarding being able to work for myself and make my own schedule. What I am saying is that all business owners have a rough patch during their time in business anyone of them can tell you that but you have to have that drive to push through those hard times because if you don’t then your business will fail. I thank God for giving the strength and the drive to continue to push forward even when times are hard because in the end, it is so rewarding to know that you have accomplished something so major in your life.

A lot of people start businesses but not many stay in business because they lose focus during hard times. I always tell myself, don’t let your current situation cloud your perspective because there is greater on the other side. I know that God would not give me a vision and not give me provision to accomplish it. God has been faithful this whole process of starting my business in the middle of a pandemic. I just have to stand on God’s word and continue to have the faith the size of a mustard seed because I know God’s word will NEVER return void. I would like to tell anyone who is starting a business that it may not be all rainbows and lollipops but if you keep your focus on your goal, you can make it through any rough time. I just keep my focus on God because I know that he will bring me through and there is greater on the other side.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Gigi Told’Em – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Gigi Told’Em is a virtual advertising and marketing company that helps businesses build their clientele and get the word out about their business. My motto is “It’s my business to keep your business in the mix!” I help business owners promote their business whether big or small. My goal is to help business owners grow their clientele so that they can be successful. I know that any small business can become a big business and I want to help them reach that goal. If a business wants to rebrand and make their business more attractive to people, I can also assist them with that. I allow the business owner to tell me their vision and I help them make that become reality. The thing that I am most proud of as a company is that I help people build their company which is something that we all as business owners work towards. It makes me proud to get reviews about businesses getting new clients because of using my promotion business. Also, I take pride in people giving reviews on receiving great customer service. I love when a customer is satisfied because I know that a satisfied customer will come back to do business again.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The best thing I love about my city is that there is so much support. People that you don’t even know are supporting your business and that’s always a good thing to meet new people. My city is growing and there are many opportunities for small businesses to grow and get exposure.
