Today we’d like to introduce you to Ginny Kibler.
Ginny, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
We started as a small bakery and sandwich shop in Cave Spring, GA. In 2001, we expanded to Rome, Georgia’s Broad St., the main downtwon drag and opened as the Harvest Moon Cafe, a full scale restaurant. In 2014, we opened the Dark Side of the Moon Bar to fill a niche for an upscale bar. The Dark Side is frequented by many different groups of folks, college kids late night, business networking locale after work and all others in between. Some folks come for the live jazz on Tuesdays or rock bands on the weekends. The bar is unique with no bar stools, only swinging seats with the backdrop of the old brick walls and folk art.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The main challenge is staying on the forefront of craft alcohol trends because new beers and liquours are coming out everyday.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with harvest moon cafe – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We offer a Provisions Tapas Style Menu where everything is made from scratch in our cafe’ kitchen. We regulary offer live music and game nights. The front wall completely opens up to the Broad Street sidewalk to let the outside in giving us the flexibility to become an openair bar. Just behind the Dark Side of the Moon, we have an event space which we open for larger parties, special events and employee gatherings.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We have plans to expand our outside seating area.
