Meet Grace Barron of Yoga Pilates Barre in McDonough

Today we’d like to introduce you to Grace Barron.

Grace, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My Journey to opening Yoga Pilates Barre started at a young age. I was always on the move- with an enthusiasm for ballet and competition gymnastics.

As I grew up I found both Yoga and Pilates as a necessity and a saving Grace. I had an eagerness to stay active but had sports injuries that were restrictive. Yoga and Pilates helped me to recover and brought back my zest for movement. I knew I had found my calling, and I wanted to bring this happiness and freedom to others. However, the passion to open my own studio developed after meeting my husband, as a trainer he shared my love for fitness and inspired me to follow my heart.

Has it been a smooth road?
I think when something is meant to be, things just fall into place. Business wise, I’ve been pleasantly surprised. What I’ve found to be the most challenging is finding time to rest. Coffee and power naps keep this girl happy.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Yoga Pilates Barre – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Our Classes are principally based on the core elements of Yoga, Power Pilates, Ballet, and strength training. We specialize in classes with low impact isometric movements and poses that safely tone, lift, and transform. This allows us to create an ideal Physique by using specific muscle groups followed by custom stretching techniques.
The dream was to be more than just a fitness studio. I wanted to create a retreat, a community. I’m so delighted and proud of the positive community environment it has become. A place to be encouraged and inspired. A true Happy Hour!

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love that Atlanta and the surrounding areas are so diverse. We have both an urban playground and a natural paradise. On a whim, you can drive in the city or hike up a mountain. We have plenty of beautiful places to explore. As far as what I like least, my mom said if I can’t say anything nice, then don’t say anything at all. 🙂
