Today we’d like to introduce you to Greg Janicki.
Hi Greg, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
At 72 years young, I’ve learned that life is less about the years and more about how fully you live them. My journey has been shaped by a lifetime of challenges and triumphs—from building a career in mortgage banking to embracing entrepreneurial ventures, and now sharing my story through my ICE brand: Inspire, Challenge, Encourage.
A pivotal chapter of my life came with Challenge 200, a personal endurance event that tested not just my physical limits but my mental and emotional resilience. Shortly after, facing Stage 4 lymphoma cancer forced me to confront the ultimate challenge—my own mortality. Today, I am in remission, and those experiences fuel my mission: to inspire others to push beyond their limits, embrace life’s hurdles, and cultivate courage in the face of uncertainty.
Through ICE, I aim to leave a legacy that goes beyond my own story—encouraging everyone to find their own strength, confront their challenges, and live boldly at every age.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Success is never a perfectly smooth road, business, health or personal. I’ve faced many business challenges that tested every part of me—navigating a demanding career in mortgage banking, building and selling my own businesses, and leading teams through uncertainty and change.
One of the most defining challenges was Challenge 200, a grueling personal endurance event designed to push my physical and mental limits. It wasn’t just about the miles or the clock—it was about confronting fear, fatigue, and doubt, and proving to myself that determination can overcome nearly anything.
Precisely 90 days after completing Challenge 200, I faced my greatest obstacle yet: a Stage 4 lymphoma cancer diagnosis. The journey through treatment and uncertainty forced me to confront mortality head-on, reshaping my perspective on life, time, and what truly matters. Today, in remission, I channel those experiences into my ICE brand—Inspire, Challenge, Encourage!
As you know, we’re big fans of Mortgage Banking & ICE. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Mortgage Banking – With over 35 years in the industry, I’ve built a career on more than just transactions. From founding my own company to selling it to a national firm, what set me apart was a relentless focus on building lasting relationships. In a business driven by deals, I made it about people—earning trust, loyalty, and meaningful connections along the way.
ICE (Inspire, Challenge, Encourage) – At nearly 73, I felt it was time to share the lessons life has taught me. Through ICE, I deliver professionally produced videos and messages on social media, helping others embrace challenges, find courage, and live boldly. ICE is about turning experiences into inspiration and encouraging others to push past limits—no matter their age or circumstances.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
What I’d love readers to take away is that ICE—Inspire, Challenge, Encourage—is more than a brand; it’s a mindset that can make a real difference at any stage of life. Life doesn’t spare anyone from tough challenges—whether it’s cancer, loss, or unexpected obstacles—but ICE shows that courage, resilience, and support can carry you through. Whether you’re young or older, facing everyday struggles or life-altering ones, embracing the principles of ICE can help you rise, grow, and inspire others along the way.
