Today we’d like to introduce you to H3TheArtist.
H3TheArtist, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was born in Decatur on Christmas in 2002. I’d say I was a pretty creative kid I always had visions of concepts and art all the time. My Dad was in the music industry his name was “South kak” he was with universal under Gene Griffin’s Sounds of Atlanta and his debut album peaked on the billboard at #76. My Dad made music in the house all day and had many artists he worked with I think this had a large influence on my musical career. My mom has sung as well she’s made music with my Dad day in and day out with him when I was coming up. My up bringing was pretty good I’d say I’ve seen the side of two worlds when it comes to my environment. My neighborhood has changed a lot since I was a kid, at one point it was very peaceful and not much would happen, but I’d say in middle school it changed I had some friends I’ve lost from violence and I’ve seen the effect of drugs on my community. That’s why I try to promote positivity in my music while still giving the truth about what our people today go through. I started producing in 2014 and I’d say I got good in 2016, I dropped my first mixtape in 2018 “H3R0 LAND” the tape did pretty well and I got the foundation for a fanbase. My debut album dropped later that year in May and it did great. It’s at 350k platform wide and has multiple hits. I performed at Soulja boys” SODMG” Indie mega fest here in Atlanta and won the contest. It was a great moment and my first performance. Here in 2020, I’ve just put out my new album “H3R0 LAND 2” and it’s doing great 3.5k streams in one week and counting. I’m excited for whatever comes next and can’t wait for my fans to get this new content.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
For the most part, things have been smooth it’s sometimes hard being such a perfectionist as an artist because sometimes it can hold you back. But my fans and their love for the music keep me going nonstop so It makes it a smoother ride. My Dad’s guidance helps me as well due to his wisdom in the game.
Please tell us about your work.
I’m a producer, songwriter, rapper, artist everything essentially. I make music that people can relate to and vibe with. I want to be an inspiration and voice for those with no voice. I plan on doing this for as long as possible until I feel my job is done. I’m most proud of the work I’ve completed and also my feedback from my fans. I feel that my sound sets me apart from others I have a unique sound in my music that I feel others can’t emulate.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I believe that things happen for a reason and the path I’m on and decisions I make are set up to lead me to a goal. It might not be what I envision but it will be something that’s right for me.
