Meet Hadi a.k.a. HADIBOYYY

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hadi a.k.a. HADIBOYYY.

Hadi, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I began rapper around 2008, 2009. I am currently 22 now, so the math can show you how long I’ve been embarking this journey. I met my now label partner and brother SwaVay and middle school and we began our journey as rappers. We started as a duo called NSK, then called New Swagg. By the time 2011 came, we became DOLO. From 2011 to about 2016, I was finding myself as an artist. I was figuring out my style, subject matter and sound I was aiming for.

It’s hard for me to write my story or document it but I will say during my time rapping I spend my money throughout middle, high school, and now investing in myself. In middle school, I spent my time buying studio equipment from microphones, software, and more.

I also taught myself photography, so I could help establish my look and brand. Between releasing mixtapes in school to chasing girls with my friends/events/excitement, I always made sure my top priority was music.

My story really involves dedication and staying the course. My story isn’t finished and I know I have great things coming soon.

Has it been a smooth road?
The road wasn’t smooth. The hardest part is money and gettin’ over humps/roadblocks.
When chasing this dream, you must be patient and focus on your path solely.
It’s easy to get caught up on the next man, which can always deteriorate you from your main goal and purpose for doing what you do.
Sometimes, I used to get discouraged, had moments where I wanted to quit and give up.
Sometimes, when I would be down on myself, I would think about pursuing a regular less complex career path.
Another struggle sometimes is gettin’ over fear.
I had points where I would let fear get the best of me. That only hindered me from being myself and the best artist I can be.
Now, Hadi is unapologetic, confident, and have no fear.
The road to my dream isn’t smooth but it’s perfect. It’s the road made for me to get through.

Please tell us more about what you do, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am a music artist.
I am under the independent music label DOLO Records in which I created with my brother SwaVay.
I am most proud of watching my brothers prosper with the label. My director is my best friend, and brother Kevin Cruz.
Ranjane Razo, my best friend, and brother does my branding.
We still have much more to achieve.

Music-wise, I am most proud of my vulnerability. It’s hard for me to be vulnerable but music creates an avenue for me to do it and be more connected with myself, my peers, and my fans. I am also proud of the growth I’ve made musically. I remember when I sucked at music or it would very difficult for me to play my music for others. Now, I know I’m fye at what I do musically.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see my industry creating a positive change in the music industry. I see myself and my brand encouraging more and more music artist, especially out of Atlanta, to be themselves. I also see myself re-inspiring others to be innovative and not follow the next man/artist.
