Hi Hadiya, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello ! My name is Hadiya Santiago and I am the owner/founder of JUUCE ! I moved to Georgia a couple years ago from Miami. The first job I got was working at a juice bar and through working there I learned that there were so many health benefits you could get by just drinking juice! Two years later I went into heart failure at 23 years old and I was prescribed so many different medications to take on a daily. After a week or so of medications, I realized that I couldn’t keep doing this. I was always so tired and had no energy to take care of my child, so I began juicing at home to help with my energy! Two weeks into juicing I felt so clear-minded and full of energy not to mention I had dropped some weight which helped my blood pressure and ultimately the function of my heart. So I just continued juicing and slowly took myself off of all those medications and replaced it with healthier eating and drinking!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There has been many obstacles because I didn’t intend to start an entire business from juicing, It kind of just happened! I had to learn every step of the way! As we all know produce is not cheap so it was a bit difficult finding a way to profit while providing the best and freshest ingredients to my customers but I honestly just focused on helping and educating people with my juicing and somehow it always worked itself out!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I make nutritional juices for weight loss and/ or detox purposes. Juuce is an all natural fresh juice company that provides you with the best of both worlds Taste & Nutrition and not to mention always free of preservatives and additives!. I am most proud of how many people I have been able to help look and feel better with my juices. What sets me apart from others is that I am just trying to do make a difference by informing my customers about the importance of what they put in their bodies, I truly believe juicing saved my life and I just want to share it with the world.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Advice for networking is to never be afraid to put yourself out there and tell your story because your story might be someone else’s survival guide !
