Today we’d like to introduce you to Hailey Harris.
Hi Hailey, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Fitbyhails was established after suffering from a foot injury in the gym and a car accident that transpired immediately afterwards. While having a lot of down time, the Holy Spirit began to speak to me about starting a Christian clothing brand that also emphasizes fitness. I began to feel more passionate about inspiring others and the best way to do that is with clothes that tell a story, which allows my customers to inspire others. The goal is to spread the good news through my brand fitbyhails.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As a first time entrepreneur there were a lot of bumps in the road. Even now, there are still some things that are trial and error. For instance, using a heat press table that was too tall and I had to start out pressing clothes on my tippy toes and burnt my arm because I couldn’t see. It wasn’t funny at the time but its funny now. There were also some mental blocks battling with fear and comparison, but being someone who encourages others I had to remind myself why I do this.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I have my own clothing line, I’m a Registered Behavior Technician, content creator, and a certified online personal trainer. I’m most proud of my clothing line because this was built during a tough season in my life. What sets me apart from others is how I blend faith with fitness because it’s a ministry that I live. I’m also a builder and not a dreamer, I act on ideas that God leads me to do. Lastly, my mindset is set on the impact I can have on others rather than the applause.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success to me is not about attaining fame, worldly riches or social status. Success to me brings a settled assurance, and I experience success when I have peace as I walk in my purpose and not chasing validation from others. It’s about obedience and being able to steward what has been given to me during the incredible process and journey.
