Meet Hannah Sabolik of Like the Dazzling in Kirkwood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Sabolik.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Hannah. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
After graduating from university, I seized an amazing opportunity to work and live in various parts of the world upon a private motor yacht, catering to elite and at times, very famous clientele. It wasn’t until I became acquainted with the in’s and outs of this very specified industry that I recognized where my true passion lay. It was working on a motor yacht that I fell in love with not only the creative side of event planning but the logistical nitty gritty parts too. When I made the decision to leave life on the ocean, I knew I had to follow my heart and fuel my creative side.

So, after planning alongside other wedding industry professionals, serving for a catering company and working in venue sales, I am now living my dream of sharing my talents and experiences to bring my clients a truly personal and unique planning experience!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I wish I could tell you that, it’s been smooth sailing from the get go but the reality of being a small business owner is that bumps are inevitable. It’s your reaction when hitting one that makes all the difference.

When I moved to Atlanta 4 years ago and began freelancing as a wedding planner, I didn’t know anyone and certainly didn’t know anything about running a business! I’m so thankful to have the ongoing support from peers I’ve met along the way in this industry, as well as my husband whom just seems to know at any given moment whether I’m in need of encouraging words or the ‘come back down to earth talk’ when I get one of my many wild ideas!

For me, the biggest struggle has been finding and maintaining work, work, life balance. Yes, two works. In addition to running a growing wedding planning business, I also currently nanny part-time for three busy children as well as serve as the chair of a non-profit organization called Veteran Jam. For me, setting business hours and boundaries has been a huge moment of awakening to ensure that I’m not putting too much on my plate but also maintaining the personalized service that I’ve built my business upon.

I’ve come to learn that there will be bumps in the road, maybe even the occasional huge grate they use here to cover up potholes… but it’s really so worth it!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Like the Dazzling – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Like the Dazzling is an event planning, design and coordination company built upon the belief that the biggest impact can be made in the smallest of details and that there is cause for celebration in each and every day.

One question I get asked frequently is what exactly does ‘like the dazzling’ mean, where did that name come from? Well, my grandmother coined the phrase, “I love you like the dazzling’, as a term of endearment that I’ve grown up using with those closest to me. The term, whilst whimsical in fashion, I have come to learn as so much more. Like the Dazzling is all things beautiful, cherished and the greatest of loves.

I’m really proud of this little company and its tremendous growth in the past two years. While you can find me personally attending to details from booking to the final moments of a clients wedding day, I have some amazing help as well which I am so excited to say has enabled me to recently expand my business.

I like to think of myself as of course, a wedding planner for our clients, but also someone they can draw inspiration from, their project manager, etiquette advisor, confidant and a friend in the planning process! It is important to me that I get to know my clients through our time planning so that we may incorporate personal details that really speak to their relationship and produce an event that is distinctively them.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
As I previously mentioned, Like the Dazzling is in a tremendous area of growth right now and there are so many exciting things that I am looking forward to for the future of this company!

More notably, we recently expanded into Asheville, NC – my hometown and are also working on some really fun things to bring to our clients in the future both in Western North Caroling and here in our Atlanta market.
