Today we’d like to introduce you to Hassaan Davis Wilkins.
Hassaan, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
After college, it was kinda hard to find a job having no experience. I had some buddies who were really good mechanics at a shop in the area of which we lived at the time. They helped me get a job cleaning up the shop. Soon after, they started to teach me small things about cars. Not too long after that, I started to learn more things about fixing cars. After a few yrs, I got tired of doing all the work and the shop making all the money so one day, I just jumped out there. Started doing it on my own, built me up some honest clientele, got a few manor accounts (Edible Arrangements, FlowerPot) and things really started to take off.
Early this year my brother Timbo acquired a private shop which we are able to run up under my company, which puts us in the position to not have any overhead and I am still able to run around mobile while he’s at the shopkeeping busy. I have had several jobs a hiccup along the way but I stayed positive an kept pushing until it worked out. I now offer a t-shirt, lighters, and pens to all my customer’s jus to show my appreciation and it keeps up the advertisement kinda for free!!!! I have a lot more to say but I have a car to finish so please, if anything needs to know, just let me know!!!!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It did not start off smoothly but it eventually did turn around. I did not have all the support I needed, really didn’t have any starting off, just me a timbo and my leap of faith. I used to go up to the mercedes dealership in buckhead an act like I needed parts but really walked around the dealership passing out lighters to customers, telling them they don’t have to spend soo much money lol I did what I had to do!! Shortly after I started in 2014, my mother went to prison and about 2months later, I got a call from my sister saying she found my dad died in his bed. I started drinking heavily a loosing focus a thing got outta hand for a while.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Bubba Mobile – what should we know?
My company is Bubba Mobile, started off as just a simple mobile mechanic that comes to you wherever that may be am I fix your car on the spot, just like old school style Shadetree Mechanic except now we come to you! We do everything from simple oil changes and tune-ups to motor swaps/builds, tranny swaps, pretty much anything shy of fabrication and we are working on our fabrication skills so soon we will be able to do that to. Our private shop is located in Stockbridge, GA but the company is generally based out of Lithonia because that’s where it really all started. I believe I’m most known for my Honesty and Quality, every single person I have dealt with knows they get dealership quality without paying dealership price, I go the extra mile for my customers because it really helps me in the end and it makes them feel like they have a great mechanic for life.
As a company, I am most proud of where we have come from, just a young guy in his truck wit really only a handful of tools and a jack lol now we got a shop! The thing that makes us different from others, aside from the great customer service and we the freshest mechanics in the city lol all our clients gets is we are Honest, in the mechanic world, Honesty and Quality are they two biggest things you can posses if you don’t have that your are Going To Fail in this game!!

The biggest credit goes to my brother Timbo and big homie Logan. Without them two, I would not be working on cars… period. And a big shout out to all my Edible Arrangement owners. They believed in a young Blackman, they let me know all the time!! Other than that for the most part, everything else was all me, my determination, pushing to get rich! I stood behind me and kept goin when a few ppl close to me took my mechanic for a joke. I was my support system!!
