Hi Hayden Raffety, Hannah Hogan, Joshua Davies, Matt Burton, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Back in 2019, Hayden, Hannah, and Josh decided that we wanted to collaborate on a podcast that centered around our interests in pop culture, specifically things that are generally considered “nerdy”. We all come from different minority groups and wanted to share our perspectives on how we experience this content. We also wanted to share the perspectives of other creators and give them a platform to express themselves as well. Nerd an geek culture has historically been co-opted by stereotypical white men and it was important to us to show that anyone can enjoy whatever they want, regardless of their backgrounds. We should all be accepting of others and celebrate our differences and interests.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Our biggest struggles over the course of our run thus far, has really been getting our name out there and finding ways for our schedules to work. Along with these, there are some of the obvious struggles that include the technical issues and finding our groove. None of us really had any experience with podcasts and we all had jobs, so navigating these things that come with just doing a podcast was really a learning curve.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Regarding the podcast, we tend to focus on tv, movies, and video game discussions. We specialize in “nerd culture” and some of our favorite episodes include game shows and tier lists. Our diversity is probably our main thing that we feel sets us apart from others. We are real people from diverse backgrounds that just enjoy sharing our different perspectives and also enjoy bringing in others of different backgrounds to weigh in on whatever the topic is for that episode. Lately, we have been working on putting out more short-form content, like TikTok videos and reels.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
They can support us by listening, liking, subscribing, and most importantly, suggesting future topics that they would like to hear.
