Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Hayes.
Heather, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started pretty young in a performing arts school touring with a performing group. Once I graduated I tried college finished two years, but the pull of entertainment, singing & dancing was all I wanted to do. I received an opportunity to hit the road with James Brown The Godfather of Soul. From there I sang and danced with the best. Michael Jackson, Puffy, Beyonce’, Arrested Development, Brian McKnight, to name a few. I then decided to create my own band The Heather Hayes Experience, primarily a cover band. But I’m working on an EP; some music is on Sound Cloud. I’ve also created a show called Hot Buttered Soul. Paying homage to my father Isaac Hayes & Stax Records. When I’m not on the road, I’m a 3rd of a The radio show Soul Sisters on Dash radio. The show consists of great topics & great music. The other hosts are Keisha Jackson, Millie Jackson’s daughter & Yamma Brown James Brown’s Daughter. I’m a singer-songwriter & new music will be out soon…
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I think my obstacles have always been stepping out of the shadow of my Dad. He will go in history as a legend & I’m so very proud of him & grateful for the lessons he taught me. With that being said I am my own person with my own name & my own gifts & talents. I work hard so that I can use them.

Heather Hayes Entertainment is a company that put together great live music & themed shows. Styling & choreography is part of creating the shows. I’m proud of the quality that I bring to the shows. My vast experience with legends that I bring to the table sets me apart from others.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was obsessed with performing. That’s all I cared about. I was convinced I would be the first black Annie! I was shy until I hit the stage. Having a famous parent makes you a target, so I just emersed myself in singing & dancing.
