Meet Heather Petty-Harris of Beauty and the Brow in Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Petty-Harris.

Heather, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started makeup 25 yrs. ago for Sephora Miami. This is where my beauty experience started. Then I was transferred to NYC Sephora. From there I was on the M.A.C Pro team. In this world, your clients are your connections. I began doing a lot of weddings. As an artist you need to be equipped to do all sorts of makeup. Weddings was my favorite to do. And it takes a special type of artist to be in charge of making someone’s memory last forever through beauty.

I moved to Atlanta to work for a salon. Where I stay till this day.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
In any career there are tough times. Makeup is a luxury not a priority especially if you’re hiring someone. We are artists and as artist you’re constantly trying to hustle your craft. Plus, there are issues. What you think is beauty may NOT be beautiful to someone else. It’s very important to communicate and be an expert in your skill.

My freelance company is BEAUTY AND THE BROW.

I specialize in every avenue of makeup and brows. My die hard skill is wedding makeup. I’m also a certified arch BROW expert.

My company name tells exactly what I do.

I have worked so hard to earn my credit in this industry.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success with being professional and good at what I do. My credibility was earned and worked hard for. I’m constantly learning and trying to achieve even more greatness at what I do. You must be up to date and knowledgeable of all skin types. Knowing what is appropriate for people. Everyone is different. With brows you have to know shapes of faces and try to make a BROW symmetric as you can. Being able to achieve this gives you a reputation this creates success.
