Today we’d like to introduce you to Helen Hall-Leland.
Hi Helen, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started Blender Bombs with $300 in by bank following a brief and unfulfilling stint in the corporate world.
In 2015, I was fired from said corporate job and began personal training which was a passion of mine. I absolutely loved my clients and helping on them on their wellness journey.
One thing I noticed that was lacking from their wellness routine was a convenient solution to getting a superfood packed meal each day.
At this time, I had been a smoothie addict and believer for years. Drinking superfood packed smoothies daily helped me achieve whole body health after living a typical late night eating/drinking college life. However making my life change smoothies TOOK FOREVER. Adding each of the 12+ superfood ingredients I needed to make my smoothie a true meal replacement was time consuming and unenjoyable. I knew my clients would be adverse to buying 12+ ingredients and adding them one by one into their smoothies – and I was tired of it too so – ENTER BLENDER BOMBS!
I starting rolling all of the ingredients into one superfood, nutrient dense ball, so what used to take 30+ min was now less than 30 seconds. The bombs were a hit with my clients and what started as selling them out of my kitchen as grown to a multi-million dollar e-com business, national distribution on Whole Foods and SE distribution in WalMart.
It has been far from easy, but the joy I get from providing a healthy, simple solution to my customers means the world to me.
Blender Bombs has grown into a full lineup of superfood smoothie booster products and snack bars. We have Blender Bombs, Bomb Bars, Granola and Bomb Drizzle. PLUS – we begin franchising our brick and mortar experience, a Smoothie Bar and Cafe (coming soon to ATL!) and in 2022 we began our official Capital Raise to continue to expand the brand.
With this capital raise, we’ll be doing a total brand refresh, hiring an experienced C-Suite team, expanding our retail reach and more.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There have been MANY struggles along the way – I was not a business minded person when I started – I love Entrepreneurship and using my creativity, but have learned how important it us to build a team of people I can rely on to fill in the gaps. (Trust me – there have been some bad hires along the way, but our team now is a dream – small and mighty -and continuing to grow.)
Growing and expanding the brand into the retail space is an ongoing lesson and journey, evolving every day!
Keeping up with the current trends – on social media, in the the health and wellness space – there is a lot of noise and I work hard to maintain authenticity and accuracy as best I can.

What sets us apart from other companies is primarily with our Blender Bomb product – it’s a category first, meaning there is no other product like this in the market place. It’s a smoothie booster made up of WHOLE FOODS, all real ingredients, never any preservatives and packed full of superfoods, including the 9 essential amino and fatty acids. While there are other products on the market, many are powdery substances and/or have questionable ingredients.
A Blender Bomb is a plant based, gluten free, dairy free, NON-GMO, soy free “ball” made up of: Dates, Walnuts, Pecans, Almonds, Hemp Seeds, Chia Seeds, Flax Seeds, Honey, Bee Pollen, Aloe Vera, a Touch of Cinnamon, Vanilla and Sea Salt.
What I am most proud of is the community that we have built around this brand. Our customers are the most loving, loyal, enthusiastic people and we would not be where we are today without them.
