Today we’d like to introduce you to Herb Moon.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was Pastor serving at a fairly large church. I was involved in athletics as a student and always a had heart for youth and the struggle of just growing up. Involving basic life choice and decisions to, and the thing that would help you stay on course and finish well. My gift is music, students love music and energy. I connected with several organizations that reached out to youth.
This gave me a close connection to several to be able to pour into their lives a foundation to better help those I came in contact with while performing music for events. Also by traveling with my daughter Danielle who I sing with gave the students who didn’t have dads or a good relationship with their parents to see how we reacted together on stage and off it was possible. It gave hope and encouragement. They would ask questions and say things like I wish I had a Dad like you. Today I’m some of their second Dads.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been always a smooth road, looking for avenues and keeping up with trends.
We (Herb and Danielle Moon) produce and write the majority of our music. In what we call, Moon House Studios.
Recently we shot our own music video. We produced the music, mastered it ourselves, did the storyboarded. Being an Indie artist is a challenge you have to promote, market and do pretty much everything yourselves. Still, the most important thing to us is the mission. Sharing the message, truth and example of a life well lived.
Please tell us about 2 Moon.
We are a Revolution… Sharing the Message and Love of Jesus Christ. 2 Moon (Herb Moon and Danielle Moon)· We feel called to pursue the hearts of middle school, high school, college students and adults through music and this Message of Hope. Reminding every person churched or unchurched there is a plan for their lives. We have a tendency as people to let unhealthy thoughts cloud our heads. These thoughts cause some to self-destruct, many before they reach adulthood.
We have experienced and have seen how in our own lives change and want the same for others. We believe love to be the key. The one thing that crosses all lines of division. With all that’s within us, we want to share that love with our music and message to change the world.
What set us apart I think what people say: Anointed, energetic, passionate and crazy for Jesus are just some of the words and phrases people have used to describe 2Moon. Their blend of music makes them a unique package and before most crowds realize it they are out of their seats and engaged in the excitement. Extremely high energy, they have the ability to reach people no matter what they believe. Very talented and a great love for people.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
What would you have done differently? I would have gone to school to better some of my natural giftings. Like I mention we are self-taught in every program we used to produce our product. It’s been a lot of learning as you go. We would recommend if you can afford to take classes on your craft or even business classes. When setting up something like this or any business an education in these areas is very helpful.
