Meet HighXlass

Today we’d like to introduce you to HighXlass.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Well, as a child, music has been a heavy influence on my life. As time went on before I even started producing, I noticed this weird thing where I would be able to hear each individual sound if I tried hard enough. I found this out about myself, maybe around 6th grade. A friend of mine in middle school around 8th grade has this software that is widely known as “Fl Studios” we played around with it in class like the last week of school and I never thought to start again. As high school went on, I was well into music as far as what was new at the time or who had the hardest beats on their songs, but then I started paying attention to who made the beats.

Most producers have a distinct tag that lets you know who they are so I began paying attention to their beats and the type of patterns I would hear from their sounds and I’ll say by my Senior year of high school, I started cooking. I just felt like if I knew how to work to software the rest would be cake and it was overtime. After my senior year, I ended up a Georgia state, where I met “BB9k,” a music group I have a great appreciation for because we made a solid name for ourselves on campus with the shows and music we were doing in the city. As the year went on I decided to put all of my energy into music. Once the year was up, I packed my things and started pursuing music heavily. To this point, I have produced for Buzzing artists “Dess Dior,” I produced her songs “Talk to me” and “Summer Time” ft Chalynn Monee, I’ve produced for Ceo Trayle, Hylan Starr, Tk Kravitz, Quez4Real, Esco Mendoza, 2f, and more. I just use my genuine personality to get where genuine people go. most of the people I produce for I can call, I pride myself on having a real connection because it’s always better to vibe when you’re in the room. You get to know the people you’re working with, which creates chemistry. I’ve been producing for about four years now and I can see myself doing anything else.

Has it been a smooth road?
The road to producing is always tricky because when you’re first starting, you’re only concerned about the music nobody tells you about the paperwork and how to get paid so it’s tedious until you get good enough to actually sell beats and get placements. I’ll say my road personally has been smooth just because of how I network and put myself in positions to generate more of a following through the artist I work with. It brings new clientele, new opportunities, and good cross networking is always good when you’re expanding your brand.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I’m a producer known as “HighXlass” (High~Class) out of Atlanta I am the CEO of High Xlass Productions LLC. Where I sell beats, Collab’s, Loops, and more. I created this business as a way to keep up with the money I’m making from the music and provide the services needed from a direct name because it’s hard to keep track of everything else going on. I most proud of the fact that I’m self-made. A lot of the up and coming is as well so it just feels good to feel like this is just the beginning and bigger things are coming. What sets me apart from others would probably be how I think. I’m very calculated and I think about more than enough possibilities for whatever we’re discussing, I’m genuine with my intentions, and I do music because I love it not for the money. The money would be nice, though.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the fact the I live in Black Hollywood Atlanta is literally the best place on the planet to be an entrepreneur its easy to network and get in the loop as long as you’re good at what you do. The one thing I don’t like about Atlanta is it’s so small.
