Meet Holly Reid Toodle of The Master Playbook

Today we’d like to introduce you to Holly Reid Toodle.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
When I’m not managing million dollar budgets for Fortune 500 companies, I’m closing the financial literacy gap for hard-working families – one healthy money habit at a time.

As a native of Atlanta, I was born and raised off Bankhead Highway (now, Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway), and was bused to school every week in prominent Buckhead neighborhoods.

I witnessed the economic disparities between the Haves and Have Nots and I’m so grateful to have found my voice teaching financial education and empowering people to build a financial legacy.

I absolutely love witnessing the breakthroughs and the transformations, and I’m humbled that I have been entrusted to serve and speak into the lives of those who are ready to begin their journey to financial freedom.

Today, I bring my knowledge and experience as a licensed CPA, an experienced corporate financial consultant, and Certified Financial Education Instructor to help others see, build and execute a legacy worth living.

But it wasn’t always the case…

Over a decade ago, I was living paycheck to paycheck.

I was operating in a steady rhythm of accumulating debt from living above my means, making minimum payments on my student loans and high-interest rate credit cards, all while juggling the financial obligations of homeownership. I was living the American dream.

For all who crossed my path, I was a model of success. Until I wasn’t.

An unforeseen corporate layoff expedited my financial free fall and I was humbled to face the mountain of debt I had created.

Shame, embarrassment, and guilt pushed me to examine my destructive spending habits and I decided to learn all I could about money management and eliminating debt.

I struggled to find my stride, but once I identified what was holding me back, I was able to share and develop my own techniques to get ahead financially and to finally crush my debt.

I clawed my way out of over $30k in consumer debt and beyond a personal sense of accomplishment, I felt empowered, liberated, and financially in control! A huge fire was lit and I wanted everyone I knew (and everyone I didn’t know) to experience life on the other side of consumer debt.

I became committed to helping others break the cycle of paycheck to paycheck living, and The Master Playbook was born!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My challenges in building The Master Playbook have been rooted in finding and maintaining balance.

As a Corporate Lead from 9am to 5pm, an Entrepreneur from 6pm until, a newlywed, stepmom, daughter, sister and friend, it’s a constant juggle to prioritize all the things.

Did I mention self-care? Yeah, throw that in there too.

For me, building The Master Playbook is the journey of my dreams that is constantly evolving in order to wear all my hats. I can literally lose track of time perfecting a talk or writing and editing content for my next book. It brings me so much joy and ignites a drive within that allows me to deliver my best.

To compensate for limited time, I’ve had to really protect and restrict my time to focus on the activities that align with my overall desire to serve and to execute a strategy to help more people, more often.

With the insights and wisdom of a business coach, mentors and a collective of friends and entrepreneurs, I’ve been able to create and take my clients on a journey that meets them where they are, guide them through a transformation and equip them to shift the trajectory of their financial future.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about The Master Playbook – what should we know?

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Personal finance is just that, personal, so connecting with people has been one of the keys to my success.

Because money and money management can be an intimating topic, it’s essential to establish trust and to demonstrate credibility early and often.
