Meet Iman Ramadan of The Fresh Hotel in Midtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Iman Ramadan.

Iman, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started The Fresh Hotel in NYC as a fashion blog for Essence magazine online over 12 yrs ago. TFH soon progressed into a styling company consisting of everything from personal styling to advertorials and creative direction. After giving birth and relocating to Atlanta GA in 2016, in addition to styling, I’m currently embarking on a fashion and beauty journey as an Influencer Hat designer, and air bnb interior designer.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Do smooth roads really exist? Not in my world. My biggest challenge has been redefining my mission in a new city. Atlanta has so many beautiful qualities however It’s been a bit difficult to stay creatively inspired and make the same money in this market. Coming from NYC, a melting pot of art and culture all piled together. It’s taken me some time to get into a flow here. Although I’m up for the challenge, the really good news is the Fashion community is growing quickly and I’m excited to add my contribution in the near future. There’s actually a lot of a talent here in the A!!!

Please tell us about The Fresh Hotel.
My company name The Fresh Hotel is a play on words. The word Fresh can mean everything from new, clean, cool and different. Moreover, it’s more than a fashion “house” we’re a “hotel”, which offers creativity in many forms: Wardrobe styling, creative direction, hat design, and now even a bit of interior design. It’s a place where there are no limits on creativity. Also, absolutely love collaborating with other creatives.

I’ve come to be known for finding exciting ways to dress modestly and Vintage… I wear a lot of vintages!! Although I don’t cover from head to toe like other Muslim blogger/ Influencers, I take great pride in the challenge of remaining true to my religious and personal values while staying on trend and expressing some of my own styles at the same time. Another pride I have is in my ability to be versatile. As long as it’s modest, I can pull it off. I know how to make look my own. I think that’s what sets me apart from other fashion girls.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
It’s funny because I always feel as if my “markers” for success take a new shape at different times in my life. It surely looked very differently before moving and giving birth to my Son. I’d say today success for me looks like a happy and healthy child first while being able to creatively express myself, be appreciated for my art and make money doing it. More specifically, I’m a huuuuge hat lover. I teamed up with some really dope guys and we designed some awesome crowns. I cannot wait to see them on the freshest domes around! That’s my next marker.
