Meet Inna Yalovska of Atlanta Piano Fortissimo in North Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Inna Yalovska.

Inna, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I grew up in a small town in Ukraine. Since I was young, I always enjoyed listening to music and loved “playing” my grandpa’s old accordion.

When I was six years old, my grandma finally signed me up at a local music school for violin lessons. By the time I was eight, I added in piano lessons and music has been a huge part of my life ever since then.

When I moved to the United States, I started teaching piano. It was a true blessing to see how music contributes to child’s development by teaching discipline and patience, boosting self-esteem and reinforcing social skills. Seeing these changes has always been the most rewarding part of my job.

As my schedule continued to fill up, I wanted to provide other talented teachers with the opportunity to reach more students. Today, Atlanta Piano Fortissimo has 15 teachers and provides lessons to over 200 students.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Probably the main challenge for any business owner is finding the right people for the company. I have been really lucky to meet wonderful people along the way. All our teachers are highly qualified, have a huge passion for music education and are great with kids. I have been fortunate to directly work with each of them and cannot thank them enough for all their dedication and enthusiasm. In general, it’s been a great journey! Our company grew from one person to 15, and we have huge ambitions for the future.

We’d love to hear more about your business.

We understand the challenges of juggling busy schedules, and the last thing we want our clients to do is to add in fighting traffic for a music class. Atlanta Piano Fortissimo has a strong focus on customer service, high standards, and a friendly, family-oriented atmosphere. We are a local small business that provides personal attention to each client and is always willing to create a program based on an individual student’s needs. Additionally, we organize recitals and other performance opportunities for our students.

What were you like growing up?
I grew up in a family of teachers, so it always felt like this was my destiny. I remember sitting down with my dolls at a table and playing pretend by giving them worksheets and assignments and teaching them to read and write. Once I started my formal music lessons, my dream took a new direction, and I only wanted to be a music teacher.
