Today we’d like to introduce you to Isis Gooden.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started my business recently during this pandemic as a means to promote self-love and self-care. I was surrounded by women that felt as though they were not taking enough time to focus on themselves, whether that means mental health, spiritual growth or pampering themselves.
My first few products I put together as a care package for someone not even for business purposes but she posted what I gave her and I received so many inquiries afterwards. I started to develop natural products that not only provided great benefits but that you could relax and enjoy as well. After I created the care package, I basically just jumped out there on faith and made it into an official business. Since starting, I’ve received great feedback, encouragement and requests for specific products that I will be dropping soon. The orders have been coming in steadily and as I continue to educate myself, I know the business will continue to flourish.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think that the biggest obstacle was just the fear of putting myself out there. When you are starting something new you’re not sure how it will be perceived or if anyone will support you. Once I got out of that mindset and put trust in myself and my abilities then it has been smooth ever since.
Please tell us about Isis’ Goddess Garden.
I created a line of handmade self-care essentials which include; herbal bath salts, sugar scrubs, soap bars, hair oil, yoni steams, body butters and oils. All products are made without the use of preservatives or harmful chemicals. I specialize in self-care and I am known in general for daily motivation. I’m most proud of my success thus far and the feedback that I’ve received. What sets me apart is that each product is created in small batches just for you and each order includes a personalized note. I also allow customizing upon request because I know for people like myself with sensitivities or allergies they may want to try something but can’t.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory would be time spent with my grandmother, Carol aka “Nig” that is no longer with us. She was a very strong, loving, supporting, outspoken and a charismatic spirit.
