Today we’d like to introduce you to Ivory Chanà Randall.
Ivory, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have always had a connection with fashion. Fashion helps me express myself and makes me feel confident. I knew I wanted to work in the fashion business and pursue my career as a fashion stylist. It took some time for me to figure out how to break into fashion and how I wanted to present myself. I needed something to express my personal style and me as an upcoming stylist. I created a brand name called “Chanà Chic”. Chanà Chic is the name of my styling and personal brand. I picked my middle name, Chana, to be the name I use for my brand. It’s an edgy name and I like the way it shows the fierce fashion side of me. And then “chic” helps me express my style. My brand name explains my personality and my work as a stylist. Once I created my brand, I shared that I was pursuing a career as a fashion stylist and began using my brand name as a hashtag under my post of daily looks and of looks styled by me. I share where I get my clothes from for outfits and gradually started my career as a stylist. This brand is not only part of me but has helped me grow and have a deeper passion for what I do. I grew so much and so has my brand.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I can honestly say it has not been a smooth road for my brand, but I allow my brand to grow in its own time. There’s never a smooth way when you’re a young entrepreneur and building a brand. My passion for styling is just as important as my other responsibilities in life. Being able to balance it all is a challenge for me but overtime you become more on point with what it takes to achieve your goals in life. I put a lot of creative thoughts into my brand and I’m always thinking about building a stronger platform for my brand. Patience is key to me, and I will allow Chanà Chic to grow gracefully. Facing challenges is part of this journey and I’m learning that this process is not easy but working hard for what you want will make it all worth it in the end.
Tell us more about the business.
Chanà Chic is my styling brand. I am a personal stylist for women and men. Whenever I style a look, it expresses my aesthetic of styling! I want people to love what they wear and feel like their best selves. Creating a vibe that matches the client while keeping a smooth and chic style. Personal shopping is also within my brand, as I shop for customers to find the best pieces for their closets and put together multiple looks. I strive to fulfill all fashion needs and everything about Chanà Chic is original, created from visions that I bring to life through the style of clothing. No matter the style of the client, the look will always be stylish and creative but have that chic touch. I create a whole experience with my styling and always come out with dope looks!
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I think it’s natural to have good luck and bad luck in life and with your business. I have learned a number of lessons and skills the hard way in life while trying to build a brand at the same time. I don’t believe in bad luck but the mistakes that have taken place I’ve learned from them and they’ve made me stronger. I reflect more on the good and the progress I’ve made as I pursue my career. I’m truly grateful for those that truly believe in me and support Chanà Chic.
