Meet JaCobi Cave of Caved in Podcast in Smyrna

Today we’d like to introduce you to JaCobi Cave.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My story starts in August of 2004, that when me my mother and older sister moved down here from New York. I didn’t even think it was real until the car was all packed and we hit the road. Fast forward ten years coming into my own man and always having views and beliefs that didn’t match the group thinking that was going myself my boy Tevin and Mari started the “Thoughts Of The Brainless” Podcast. I wanna say we did about 80 episodes with everybody from Gunner Stahl, Bahja Rodriguez, Will Hill, the list goes on. Things died down and my two co-host moved outta state. Which brings us to today and I’m relaunching my own podcast “Caved In”.

Has it been a smooth road?
Nothing about this road has been smooth. To be honest I prolly wouldn’t be where I am today had the road been smooth, from losing my grandmother who was the glue of my family and watching the structure fall apart I’ve been evicted And slept on couches I’ve faked interest with woman to have a bed to sleep in. I’ve had money I’ve been broke and not even had two quarters to rub together. All in all though I’ve always risen to the challenge of better myself and circumstances and haven’t let anything stop me for sure been slowed down, but never stopped.

Please tell us about Caved in Podcast.
Caved In Podcast. This is my baby my first time stepping out on my own and doing something that I’m totally in control of. It’ll consist of me just unpacking my life and addressing things that I’ve experienced in my 27 years of life. I believe that although we all are different there’s always something we can relate to within what others have and or are going through. So showcasing that vulnerability I think Is something that is missing with podcast these days it’s more about talking about what other people are doing instead of putting the mirror on yourself and addressing your own shortcomings and etc.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Man even from back in 2014/2015, when I started Podcasting to now its changed so much everybody has a podcast or listens to them. We used to always get asked “what’s a podcast” when we started out but now it’s global. It’s kinda trendy everybody thinks they can do it until the mics get turned on lol. I just see continued growth for the industry if it’s not already for sure see it as a billion-dollar industry in the years to come.
