Meet Jacqueline Nguyen of Poppy Aesthetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacqueline Nguyen

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Dr. Jackie Nguyen and I am the owner and solo practitioner of Poppy Aesthetics. I am a Georgia licensed physician, board-certified in Family Medicine, and specialize in Aesthetic Medicine. I’ve had more than 8 years of experience working in the Primary and Urgent Care setting prior to starting my Aesthetic and Concierge practice. My goal is to provide practical methods to help clients achieve their aesthetic goals using noninvasive cosmetic injectable medicine.

I completed my undergraduate studies at Georgia State University in Atlanta, earned my medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwanee, Georgia, followed by Family Medicine residency training in South Miami, Florida. During that time, I trained and became certified in Botulinum Cosmetic injection and Dermal Filler injection. I have since returned home to Atlanta, Georgia with a new focus on Aesthetic and Concierge medicine.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In March of 2023, I finally started my Aesthetics practice, Poppy Aesthetics, in Buckhead. I started off with occupying a space within a nail salon to build our client base and things were going well until there was a major fire than burned down the entire building in November 2023. We were devastated but thankful that no one was hurt. I have since been operating out of a space in my home right down the street from the original location. I had a lot of concerns about recovering but I have received a lot of support from my clients and others and I continue to be hopeful of the future of Poppy!

As you know, we’re big fans of Poppy Aesthetics. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
At Poppy, we want to open up the conversation of injections and normalize the treatment for everyone, not just celebrities, high-income individuals, etc. We strive to stand out by embracing inclusivity and approachability as core values. Unlike many other practices that can come off intimidating or stuffy, we cater specifically to every woman from all backgrounds, ensuring that our services are tailored to meet diverse needs and preferences. We believe in creating a welcoming environment where every client feels valued and understood. Our approach is not just about enhancing beauty, but also about empowering individuals to feel confident and comfortable in their own skin. Whether you’re seeking subtle enhancements or transformative changes, our team is dedicated to providing personalized care and guidance every step of the way.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Networking can oftentimes feel fluid and awkward for me, but I have found that most people in the beauty/aesthetics community in Atlanta are so eager to share in their experiences/knowledge. I believe there is enough room for everyone at the table and I’ve been pleasantly surprised to see that this attitude has been reflected with other individuals I’ve met in the space.

In hopes to pay it forward, we are looking to be able to train other injectors in the near future as well! And while I’m also new to owning/opening my own business, I’m excited to share what I’ve learned along the way with others.
